Big flavoured stout, but also boozy. On tap at Kickbacks. Woody character. A sipper. Black with little head.
If I had this with food, and little alcohol before it would work. As it is, I got too much of the booze and the wood and it was not working at optimal levels. Worth a try though.

2010 Wake-N-Bake aged in Jack Daniels barrels with vanilla beans added. Had on tap into a snifter.
Poured deep and dark with minimal caramel head. Not much coffee on the nose with some barrel. The taste is mostly some barrel with a thin porter. Very little coffee and vanilla to be found. As it warmed up it got better with a balanced blend and a touch more vanilla but very faint.

This beer is a Kickback's of Jacksonville, FL exclusive. The provided description is that it was brewed in 2010 and then aged for 13 months in Jim Beam Bourbon barrels. It was aged on cinnamon sticks, Madagascar Bourbon soaked vanilla beans and Tupelo honey.

A: no head or lacing, jet black

S: sweet chocolate and vanilla with a touch of roasted malt and bourbon

T: fairly sweet and creamy with lots of chocolate, vanilla and roasted malt. Bourbon is present but doesn't dominate the beer. Oak notes.

M:smooth and thick. Light to no carbonation

Overall: very smooth and drinkable. The bourbon is perfectly applied. The honey and vanilla blend well. This is an excellent smelling and tasting brew however much is left to de desired from the mouthfeel and appearence. Maybe it was supposed to be a little flat, not sure. More should be made, I know that much.
