A 6 pack bottles picked up at Greens on Buford Hwy

A - Dark amber, with a tiny bit of clarity. 2 fingers of head, and sticky lace left all over the glass

S - Spices, brown sugar. Dried fruit. Malty..

T - Dried fruit, apricots, toffee, spices. Very tasty.

M - Medium carbonation. Smooth.

O - An enjoyable spring beer. Perfect for a sunny afternoon. Refreshing. Well done..

16 ounce pint - $6.50 at Taco Mac in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Dark amber body in color, clear, with an inch of ivory suds and good lacing action on the way down.

Smell: A mash-up of malt notes, toasted bread, toasted grains, a smidgen of caramel given a sprinkling of dried herb and dehydrated fruits.

Taste: A bit toasty, grainy, with a thin caramel edge and just a touch of sweetness. Lightly herbal hops, medium-light bitterness. Light estery quality about it, with roundabout, albeit modest hints of apple, apricot, and golden raisin. Drying, malt-accentuated, and still faintly fruity finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: It's fairly sufficient, for an Americanized altbier.

Went to terrapin and had this beer at the location itself. really great! a german alt bier that is very versitile, you can drink this beer year round. i have also like old mecklenburg copper ale but this one is better. A bit sweet but really nice. i hope terrapin keeps this one around and sells it outside the brewery.

On tap at Flying Saucer Raleigh

A - caramel amber with a thin off white head that has good retention

S - caramel, a bit lager-y

T - caramel, earthy hop character, lager-y, mild bitterness in the finish

M - medium bodied, smooth, well carbonated

This was a nice change of pace for me. This is a well-flavored, drinkable lager. This was enjoyable. It's not something I would usually go after, but on a nice early spring day, it was very refreshing. I'm glad I tried it.

16oz Growler from Beverage World. April? kegging date, I believe. Served at around 40-45F.

Pours reddish/brown with a one finger light brown head that leaves just a few spots of lacing and recedes to a wispy cap.

Aroma rather weak on this one with mild notes of bread & toast, nuts, and a bit of caramel and toffee, a little mineral-type note as well.

Flavor is much more pronounced than the aroma and features dark toast, nuts, toffee and caramel, moderate sweetness, minimal bitterness or hops, minimal alcohol.

Mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium bodied, moderate carbonation.

Pretty good Altbier, could use more punch in the aroma but the flavor makes up for it.
