22oz bottle served in a Belgian snifter. Specific classification: Spiced Imperial Brown Ale.

A - Pours very dark brown with a rather fragile and frothy tan head.

Aroma: A spicy mix of roasted dark malts, dark chocolate, cinnamon, and vanilla with a hint of raisins.

T - A cascade of flavors, but cinnamon and vanilla are prominent throughout. Dark chocolate appears mid-taste and, joined by milkly coffee, lingers in the aftertaste. Mildly sweet although, ultimately, balanced by some bitterness.

M - Medium/full bodied with moderate+ carbonation.

O - A fine sipping ale. Sweet enough to work better after than during a meal. While I liked the substantial vanilla and cinnamon, these are prominent enough to partially mask the underlying malts and may be too prominent for some.
