the only real use I can see for the apartment is to have an early-afternoon brew before a good lunch at Olga's around the corner, or else perhaps a late-afternoon lunch after the Children's Museum, when the need to dull your senses come before food quality on your list of priorities (and as the previous reviewer said, the interior is cavernous and there's never anyone there so the kids can tear around).
The Apartment is a weird attempt by a local restaurant chain to cash in on the craft-beer trend while bringing back the "lounge" concept from the mid 1990s. In this location, with no residential population to speak of, this makes no sense. It also treats beer drinkers like ignorant herds when it come to food (fried pickles and club sandwiches not the heights of my culinary aspiration).
The beer ignorance on the part of the staff is a little off-putting but I'm not so down on them for that. I don;t care how beer-stupid a bartender or a waiter is, as long as they offer me a taste of the brew I'm asking about I'm fine.
My dream is that Olga's will expand into this space, redecorate it and keep the taps. The Jewelery District desperately needs a solid, non-scary pub/restaurant that stays open on the weekends!
