Dry hopped Belgian Saison: Refreshing and bright, smells like bubblegum. This easy drinking beer pays homage to its roots with floral and spicy flavors, peaches and something like pistachio.

12 FL OZ can
Served in a Rockmill branded wine glass

This beer pours pale yellow with a chill haze. It is topped with an inch of beige head that leaves sparse lacing.

I got a little citrus at first. Then I smelled bubblegum. Hay and grass.

Light stone fruit flavor. Earthy bitterness from the hops. Citrus. Grass. Hints of banana.

Medium bodied with an effervescent mouthfeel

It is an easy drinker. It went down quick. Decent beer.

375 ml bottle

Pours slightly hazy golden, white head retains as a film.

Aroma of citrus, grassy malts, some hints of grape.

Flavor is of grape, apple, lemon citrus, biscuit makts, and some wildflower honey and herbal flowery notes.

Medium body, tingly carbonation on the tongue.

Very tasty and easy drinking, goes down smooth, bright, springy, definitely something I would have again.

On draught at the Columbus taproom, sampled from a tasting glass. Pours a clear pale yellow, with a white head. Good head retention, with some pretty lacing. Huge aromas and flavors of bubblegum, with peach, honey, and floral and herbal notes. Dry and crisp finish, with some pleasant bitterness lingering on the palate. Overall an outstanding quaff, and a great table beer as well.

Poured out of a 12 oz can into one of my tulip glasses, this beer pours a somewhat cloudy/hazy and fairly pale golden color with a giant, fluffy looking head that's well over an inch thick when poured with good retention and a lot of lacing indeed. Aromas of some bready malts and wheat, bubblegum, a hint of peppercorn, some yeasty funk, and a bit of banana and peach. The excellent flavor profile is quite similar, with some bready, slightly zesty malts and wheat that give way to slightly spicy peppercorn and a bit of bubblegum sweetness that is followed by hints of banana and peach. This is rounded out with a bit of yeasty, barnyard funk with just a hint of apricot sourness and some citrus, floral hop bitterness. An excellent flavor profile here. Has a crisp, also smooth and creamy and frothy, medium bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. has a clean, long finish and a nice slightly sour and funky, and bubble gum aftertaste. A very good beer here overall.

12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a pale golden with some haze to it; fluffy eggshell white head that falls slowly leaving great thick retention and sticky frothy lacing. The aromas have lots of citrus leading the way along with some wheat and yeast. Some hop aromas as well. Subtle funk and vinegar notes. The flavors follow the nose. More citrus leading the way, especially lemon. Some black pepper coming through. Some spicy notes. Subtle hints of banana and bubblegum in the mix. Wheat and yeasts come through. Malts do their thing without dominating. This one has a solid bitterness to it. Finishes juicy and dry, but it's definitely more on the drier side. Alcohol goes unnoticed for the most part. Mouthfeel is very nice. It's on the lighter side of medium-bodied with active carbonation. It's sharp, crisp and slightly fluffy.

This is a really nice saison. It's very bold. This one definitely has a hop bite to it. The craftsmanship is on point. I like it.

Little darker than I expected, sort of dark goldish, with a ton of white bubbly head.
Smell is bread, clove, lemon, other citrus and what I am going to call pepper.
Some bread and citrus, but the finish is all black pepper. This distracts from the overall flavor.
I would call this medium bodied for a saison, and it doesn't leave that nice sort of salty finish I associate with saison's.
Overall this wasn't a bad beer, and even though it had a pepper flavor, I still liked the way it tasted, but it just didn't hit the notes of a saison.

Bottle dated 100716. I sure hope this is not a 20 month old bottle. I got it at the taproom. DFH Tulip.

A: pours a hazy gold with a 1/2 finger off-white fizzy head that lasts. Not much visible carb to speak of. Poured without disturbing sediment.

S: right off the bat, loaded with lovely wheaty, Belgian phenolic character. A little funky, a little fruity. More funk than fruit, for sure.

T: dry and spicy, herbal, wheaty, arrival. This is Saison flavor country! Mid palate it fills out with some funk and tartness, a little complex fruit, then a spicy and herbal noble hop note at the finish that lingers, but not too much.

M: lighter end of midweight, more carbonated than it looks, but less than Saison DuPont. Fairly clean on the finish. Feels very refreshing.

O: What I get from this is what I expected to get from Saison DuPont. Less aggressive than Sorachi Ace or Tank 7; I like this about as much as Hennepin, a little less than Apex Predator. Certainly drinkable. A complex and refreshing saison. Age certainly did not hurt this one.

Slightly haze yellow-gold with a soft white blanket of foam.

Smell is banana, clove, grass, and breadiness.

Taste is perfumey and herbal, with that banana clove yeast combo, but an odd bit of bitter gasoline emerges.

Frothy feel.

Golden hazy hue, and a pleasant citrusy aroma. The taste is wheat and lemon, other fruits, almost like a sour, maybe some spices, overall mild and crisp. It is very drinkable but perhaps a tad bland.
