Poured from fridge temp. Pours a nice dark brown/black with very resilient light tan head. Nose is Belgian yeast, roasted malts, raisins, cherries, oak, bread, and black licorice. Taste is fairly reserved. Bitterness upfront - bark, licorice, burnt toast, malts, raisins, toffee, bread, tree sap. Mouthfeel is creamy. Overall, a really nice stout.

Tap

Pours jet black, light tan head is about a quarter inch and dissipates to a lacing.

Smells of cocoa, vanilla, toast, mesquite, and maraschino.

Tastes of chocolate, cherry, toast, mesquite, and a dry woody finish.

Full body, tingly carbonation on the tongue.

Exceptionally good cherry stout. Sometimes these fruit stouts taste medicinal, but not this one. Decadent flavor, a treat.

Pours a thin, dark brown, bordering on black. A thick, creamy, dark tan head forms quickly, and sticks around for a long time. I get loads of dark fruit, hints of chocolate, and lots of coffee. The nose is highly sweet up front, with a dark bitter note hiding in the background. Flavors are rich, and very complex. I fear I can't really due them justice, but I'll do my best. There is a lot of roasted grains, dark fruit, plums, raisins, chocolate, and a spice I can't quite pin down. It has a bubblegum like sweetness that shows up right at the end. Ever sip seems to bring about more flavors. It's very slightly warming as it goes down, but the 8 percent ABV is never offensive. The only let down for me was that it was a very thin beer. I've had IPAs with a thicker mouthfeel. Outside of that, this is an absolutely fantastic beer, and one I'd recommend day in and day out.

375 ml corked and caged bottle. Looks like 012516 is stamped on the label, but it's hard to read for sure. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head that stuck around a while. There's a good amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like roasted malt, dark fruit (cherry, plum), molasses, and coffee. It tastes like molasses, dark fruit (mainly cherries and plums), coffee, dark chocolate, earthiness and burnt/charred malt. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's creamy and coating with a good amount of carbonation. I thought this was pretty good. Rockmill's darker beers are some of my favorites from them, and I wish they'd make some more American-Belgian style stouts. Definitely worth picking this one up, I know I'd like to buy this again! $6.99 a bottle.

Best stout I have had in some time. This nice little beast pours a rich
opaque with brown highlights and a nice head of brown foam that
settles to a thick ring, thin layer, and nice light lacing. Nose of dark
chocolate, light coffee, subtle char, notes of dark malts, and subtle booze.
Flavors exceed the nose with medium roasted coffee and dark chocolate
blended with subtle cream. Brown sugars march in midway and finish
with a light floral hop note on the rear with strong booze notes on the aftertaste.
Great mouth feel, medium carbonation, full mouth feel, creamy, and warming.

Excellence from an excellent brewery!

Cheers

Picked this up at a bottle shop in the Old town east n'hood of Columbus OH. Being a big fan of heavy stouts and belgians I decided to give this a try.

Pour a beautiful thick black viscous liquid coating the glass nicely. Barely a quarter of an inch of espresso crema colored head. On the nose this smells more like a quadrupel. Dark fruits, burnt caramel and some booziness accompanies those characteristics. Slight coffee aroma but just a little. The taste is a little more stout forward and in the back there is a wonderful sweetening of the palate like a great quad. This is like a quad-stout hybrid and a good shot at making one. The booziness you get on the nose is not that prevalent on the palate. The taste to summarize is stout up front quadrupel in the back.

The mouthfeel is akin to a quad than a stout with a more than expected amount of carbonation. A little thin but not too bad.

This is a great above average offering that I might considering buying again if I was looking for a quad with a twist.

750ml bottle poured into a pint glass
A: Dark brown almost black with a one-finger head
S: Tons of cocoa, chocolate malts, some yeast and light allspice
T: Cocoa up front, a blend of spices on the midpalate then some malt/yeast on the finish
M: A bit light-bodied given the intensity/complexity of the aromas/flavors though creamy
O: A nice stout, not as bold as many but a nice depth of flavors
