A beautiful and majestic location worth checking out. Interior is
a farmhouse that is something from time of yore with brick, rough
hewn wood, and stone intermingling into an experience that is the best
in ambiance I have ever seen. Grab a fine Belgian from the somewhat limited
but tasty selection and go out on the porch to enjoy the pond, take a walk
down and to the right for some stone scapes that will boggle your mind.
Finely crafted Belgian and modern Belgian hop and tart styles are presented
well along with Belgo stouts and dark saisons that are a delight.
I could see spending a lot of time here.
Cheers to Miss Laura for driving our motley crue here to enjoy.

I love the feel of this brewery. You feel like you're far, far away from Ohio. Great scenery and really solid beer. They've recently totally redone the taproom. This is a must stop for a brewery tour on the south side of Columbus. A really great place.

Nice escape in the country. Check this place out to leave the hustle and bustle. They encourage you to bring your own food, and I'd suggest it, given there are no restaurants anywhere near this place.
Nice vibe, great remodel of a century-old horse stable. It's a great country escape, with quality brews.

Wow - totally shocked by this place. It was a little challenging to find way out at what seemed like a farm. The ambience was amazing - dark and rustic. A place where you could really sit back and relax with a beer. They had all of their great stuff for sale to take away, and also on tap. The service was great, but by far the best attribute was the vibe.

After flying past this out-in-the-country place once and then turning around, I finally saw where to turn into the driveway. (My GPS was off about a quarter mile.) The farm buildings make it a little confusing to determine where the taproom is located, but I found it at the end of the driveway to the left of the outbuildings.
The taproom is in a rustic-looking. 2-story building with brown wooden siding and a red-shingled roof, and the structure is somewhat secluded among the trees just past the small parking area. The interior of the taproom has a quaint feeling, kind of an European farmhouse feel, so the surroundings are very fitting for the beers. There were 6 beers on tap, plus a few open bottles of other beers that were also being poured as samplers. We ended up having 7 samplers. Belgian-style beers are still new to me, so I can't say that they were brewed to style, but these beers were very, very tasty.
I didn't have time to linger or I would have had more to drink to fully appreciate this brewery's offerings. I travel through this area a couple of times per year, so I'll definitely go back again with more time to spend there.

Stopped by the Rockmill brewery on our way back from a hike in the Hocking Hills. Bring your GPS if you want to find this place, it is 10 miles from civilization in all directions. If coming from Columbus, it is probably 15-30 minutes from any part of town.
It is an old converted horse farm, but the taproom itself is the farm house. It was a really relaxing atmosphere to enjoy a beer on a Sunday afternoon. The taphouse itself has plenty of room to spread out in. The patio outside is off-limits on Sunday afternoon, but there is an old horse barn down by a pond that has plenty of outdoor seating, it just isn't directly adjacent to the taps.
Rockmill only has their own beers available, when we stopped by it was a combination of a couple of things on tap with a few others available as pours at the bar, including a barrel-aged double that was quite delicious. On a nice weekend afternoon it would be worth a trip out to the country to visit. Recommended.

The taproom for the Rockmill Brewery is located in an old two story farmhouse about 30 minutes southeast of Columbus. It is a bucolic setting and an excellent place to simply chill and slowly sip their exquisite beers. There are a number of sitting rooms on the second floor that overlook the main floor and the central bar. Pull up an easy chair, lean back, and enjoy.
Their beers are limited and pricey, but they are also universally very good. They only produce Belgian style beers, so if you are not a fan of that style, you are out of luck. I happen to like Belgians and believe you would be hard pressed to find a better line-up of Saisons, Dubbels, and Tripels than those produced by Rockmill. Definitely worth a visit.
