Nice place in downtown with rotating taps and extensive bottle list. Good food too. Need to come back several times to fully explore the beer selection. One of my favorite places for food / beer pairing. Must try the poutine.

First time I ever saw a beer menu that showed the keg date for the beers. You could trust it's fresh. It was displayed the miles it traveled to get to Boise, which may have been bit much, but the freshness info was a nice touch. We were there on St Patrick's Day, so it was noisy and packed. Our server Ryan really seemed to know his beer and his way around the food menu. It's a good sign when a place cares to educate its staff. I recommend eating and drinking here, when you're in Boise.

Rolled in on a Tuesday and the placed was packed. But got a seat right away. Very solid taplist. Hoppy, sours, BA stouts, local and NW well represented. Got to try Barley Brown WPA IPA. 6-7 barrel aged stouts with recommended whisky companions listed. Friends had Laughing lab BA stout served in Teku's and loved the beer. Food was excellent (got a burger and added an egg). My favorite beer bar in Boise.

I really like the Bitter Creek Ale house, so I was looking forward to their adjacent dinning room. It did not disappoint.
It is a fairly small & narrow three level space. The small bar is on the main level. They have a pretty cool illuminated wine cellar that seems to be the focal point of the space.
As noted, they share the beer options with the Bitter Creak, so you're covered there!
Service was friendly and our meal was well paced. The food is pretty good with a couple of real good items (get the short rib risotto). I liked that they do small plates so you can sample a bunch of items. Entrees are also available. Note that they have some fixed price three course dinners, which are a value.
I would have no problem making a return visit.

Like previous reviewer, surprised this place hasn't been reviewed. Perhaps the local BA crowd re JohnGalt1 and Inflatable Chair will chime in. Visited evening 11.10.10.
After trying to wedge myself into the Bittercreek next store, not evening finding a bar stool that may have been opening up in the foreseeable future, I 'resigned' myself to the Red Feather, the sister bar of Bittercreek. The places do share a common kitchen but not the same menu, RF is much more small plate, upper-end dining than the (quality) pub grub at BC. The vibe is dark, industrial chic, chill cool. The bartender was quite attentive, though he had to go next store to pour the beers out of BC taps which they share. I didn't try the food, but you could see this was quality gastropub food and I would certainly take a beercentric date to this place. Given access to BC taplist, this place is not nearly as boisterous and loud as next store. The only downside was the use of a curtain instead of a door by the foyer, which given the cool temperature made sitting at that end of the bar problematic. This place was a very pleasant surprise, and if you are looking for a cool place to chill and have a quality beer, this place makes infinite sense. Recommended.

Surprised to see this was had not been added for the Boise Beerfly, so I added it myself.
Red Feather is located right next to Bittercreek Alehouse on 8th street in downtown Boise and I believe they have the same owner. This is a HUGE plus because all the beers on tap at Bittercreek are also available here as well as the best bottle list I've ever seen in Boise.
Taps always feature some local fare and regional fare that extends all the way to a Goose Island beer or two. You can see whats on tap by searching Bittercreek alehouse in google and looking at their menu.
Now the bottle list at Red Feather is the most impressive aspect of this place. There are things here that you just cant find anywhere else in Boise. Tons of belgian and german beers as well as some beers from HOtD that are difficult to find in Boise like Blue Dot. This is also the only place I've ever seen in Boise to buy quality lambic and guezes. Running about $25 you could enjoy a bottle of Cantillon Lou Pepe Kriek or a Drie Fonteinen gueze.
The atmosphere is nice and you can sit out on the patio in downtown Boise. The food is also great and not super pricey. A must visit in Boise.
Edit: The service and atmosphere have gone downhill in the last few years due to ownership. Re-reviewed.
