I tend to hit Pier Liquors when I spend my annual week in Narragansett and I find this establishment preferable to the liquor stores on 108. Pier Liquors is located directly across from the Narragansett Town Beach and is a convenient pre-stop before hitting Crazy Burger or Marko's on Boon St. (both BYOB restaurants). As you enter the store, immediately to the left is the beer section. The coolers along the wall tend to be more macro and mainstream centric, but once you go around the corner to the adjacent wall, there is a good amount of craft stocked in the coolers. Since last Summer, it would seem that they've added a mix-a-six option with a 10% discount. Generally speaking, they have a nice array of regional craft beers (Berkshire, Shipyard, Smuttynose, Clown Shoes, Ipswich, Magic Hat, Pretty Things, Mayflower, etc.) as well as some residual DFH, Sierra Nevada, Stone, Firestone Walker, Stillwater, etc. The import selection is not huge, but respectable; you'll find Saison Dupont, Foret, Chimay, La Trappe, but nothing too crazy. Prices are extremely reasonable in my opinion for the area. I was super psyched to pick up a couple bottles of Berkshire Czech Pilsner for $3.99 a bottle. Generally speaking, I prefer this place to Wakefield Liqours. Wakefield definitely has a bit more depth, but I think the value at Pier Liquors is much better and I always leave happy. Definitely worth stopping by if you are in the area.

Went into this place to grab some cold refreshment a couple of weeks ago while staying in Narragansett. This is a mid sized liquor store with half or a little under half of the square footage reserved for craft beer. This place has one cooler devoted to macro, another devoted to craft and a third devoted to imports. This place had a good selection of your typical craft (Founders/Stone/Allagash, etc) as well as some regional beers. I asked the crew there if they had any Captains Daughter and they went into the cellar to grab me a 4 pack, which was nice. I also found some gems such as 2015 Stone W00t Stout and Epic Big Bad Baptist. They also had a mix a six section that had some adequate picks. My only knock would be that their selection of imports German and Belgian were a bit sparse. I did find some De Ranke Guldenberg, though, which was a treat. The prices here are very fair and it is definitely worth stopping by if you are in the area.

First off his store is so close to the beach that Papelbon could hit it with a rock, making it convenient and completely worth the trip. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and greeted me upon arrival, not something you see a lot of these days, nice touch.

The beer selection was incredible! They carry all the big players in the craft world like Rogue, Stone, Flying Dog, and Victory plus a bunch of even lesser known breweries too vast to list. They also had an abundance of local brews from Mayflower, Pretty Things, a full line of Berkshire and Clown Shoes...WTF!!! I've died and gone to beer heaven.

I asked one of the employees there for help because I didn't see any imports at all, until he walked me right to the import and malt cooler. There they had three full doors of imports including some of my personal favorites Flag Porter, Erdinger, and Dragon Stout. I don't get into the fruity malts myself, but they have plenty for the summer crowd to feast on as they bask in the sun.

I turned around and to my surprise there was a bomber and mix-a-six section as well! My cart was full, but I shuffled a few things around to make room for a couple quality Belgian brews.

Their walk-in cooler was astounding. When you have breweries like Long Trail, Sierra, Harpoon, and Magic Hat in the big boy cooler along with all the commercial brands you must be doing something right.

Overall the store was impressive. It looked like a place that I couldn't afford, but was totally within my budget. I even got 5% off beer and 10% off liquor because of their customer appreciation day on Thursday. By the way, if you're into brown liquor or martinis this is a good place to stop by as they have a nice selection of bourbon, single malts, and high end, flavored vodkas.

Truly a one-stop shop, I was even able to grab a nice bottle of wine so my girlfriend's parents who were coming over for dinner didn't think I was a complete nimrod for buying so much beer.

I totally recommend this store to anyone who knows what's good for them. Even if you don't, their staff will be more than happy to show you what is.

First off, Pier Liquors is in a great location - especially if the surf's up or you're making a summertime run to the beach. For a small shop, the beer selection is above average, stored mostly in coolers, and focuses primarily on quality local stuff - Berkshire, Pretty Things, NEBCO, Mayflower, Cisco, Sebago, etc. From a glance, the wine selection seems quite impressive as well. The import selection is somewhat limited. The staff has always been extremely helpful and frequently asks my opinion on their new products. Everything seems very fresh and new releases come into the shop quickly. There's also mix-a-six, newsletter coupons, and a beer discount day.
