I stop by this place every time I'm back in town. Each time is like a new surprise and always seems to have a newer/larger selection to choose from.

The Lager Mill has quality products including domestic, craft and imported brew, home brew supplies and kits, German Memorabilia, cigars and much more. For only being open a short time, this store has really provided a quality product that is sought after.

The service is excellent too. I believe the Lager Mill is owned by 3 guys, all of which are very helpful, knowledgeable and really enjoy what they do. Each time I've gone in there I was approached with a smile and they are great with suggestions and pointing things out also.

The selection is quite good also, as they have a nice assortment of different styles, brands and seasonals. I don't think there's been a time in which I've left the place without leaving without buying something new and/or finding what I've been looking for. I rated it a 4.5 only by the fact of it could be a large selection, but that will come in time being that they are still in the somewhat "new" phase.

Overall value is excellent too, bottles are priced well as are six packs.

I definitely recommend this place to all locals and all that are passing through michigans little bavaria, you will not be disappointed!

I’ve been stopping at the Lager Mill every time I’m in Frankenmuth (at least once a year) since they opened. The selection of MI beers is good and predominates (Duh!) but other eastern states are well represented as is Germany. Most of the selection is shelfed at room temperature although there is pretty good overlap with the coolers. Prices are very reasonable for a bottle store and are not much higher than in grocery stores. Some wine and soft drinks are also available as are craft-related stuff like tee shirts and glassware.
I can’t comment on the knowledge of the staff since I’ve never discussed anything with them other than the availability of Sprecher’s Root Beer (For my wife).
I haven’t visited the museum in a couple of years but as I recall it goes up at least one more floor and possibly two.

I dig the Lager Mill. It should be a must stop for every Beer Advocate who visits Frankenmuth.

The Lager Mill is located in an old mill just a stone's throw away from the Cass River. You can't miss it if you enter Frankenmuth from the south. You will cross the bridge heading into town and the Lager Mill is to your immediate left. They have done a really nice job of renovating and repurposing this old mill into its current state. Once inside, much of the original framework of the mill is still intact. It is a wonderful old building worth checking out all on its own.

Also inside is a brewing museum. I have never checked it out. It costs $10 and I'm not sure I would get much value for it. The museum is not very big so I don't think there is much to check out.

The rest of the shop is beer, beer making supplies and some small amounts of clothing and other knickknacks. The Lager Mill has a nice selection of beer. They have all the mainstays that you would find in any good beer shop in Michigan. And they are very good about posting their recent shipments on Facebook so you can keep up on what they have received. They always get every good limited or special bottles so if you are on top of your game, you can probably get some of them with good timing.

I had such good luck during my last visit. The Lager Mill had posted on Facebook that they received Short's Freedom of '78 two days before my last visit. I did not see any of it out so I asked the employee if they had any. While we exchanged pleasantries, he went behind a cooler where some of this beer had been tucked away. Proving once again, always ask your beer guy or gal if they have something you are looking for. The worst they can do is say no but sometime you hit paydirt.

Wandered in and glad I did! Outstanding selection, especially with German and Bavarian imports. Had several KristalWeissen options as well as the complete Wiehestephaner line. Very knowledgable staff was there.

I have been to several beer stores in MI, and many in other states…this one is a go to stop.

Visited here to grab some beer while on vacation in Frankenmuth last week, mainly to snag some beer for the mother in law(keep her outta my stash)! Also wanted to check out there selection after seeing their favorable score on here. First off selection is very good. Spotted some double crooked tree ipa as well as many of my favorites from the G.R. area quickly. Chatted it up with the clerk who was very knowledgeable and friendly. My mother in laws husband grabbed her some DB at around $9 a sixer which is spot on for any market outside of G.R.. I scored a sweet Lagunitas drinking jar plus some DCT ipa. Nice place will revisit any time I'm in the area.

Great little shop.
Perfect for the dads/husbands who take the family to Frankenmuth/Bronners for a nice visit.
Service was outstanding as the fellas working there knew their stuff.
Selection for MI brews was great. Found a couple gems. Good selection for german beers as it is Frankenmuth after all.

There are so many stores that emphasize fine wines or rare liquor, but The Lager Mill is a beer store! They do, of course, carry a fine selection of Michigan wines, hard ciders, meads, etc. but the focus here is craft beer! The beer selection is awesome, and most of the bottles can be purchased as singles. Their prices are very reasonable and you won't need to worry about overpaying for the latest Founders limited seasonal release!

The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful! If you've heard of a beer and remember a short description of it, but don't remember the name, just ask Tom and you'll surely be pointed to the right (or very similar) beer. If you're looking for a particular beer and don't see it on the shelf, just ask.

The building is really cool! It's actually a historic mill and eventually there will be a beer museum on the other side, but until it opens you can look at some of the artifacts through the large windows inside the store.

They also have a really good selection of homebrew supplies and authentic German apparel, beer t-shirts, disc golf equipment, and glassware!

A quick 15-minute stop at the Lager Mill was all the time I had, unfortunately. Didn't get to see the museum because of the time crunch. Too bad!

An excellent selection of Michigan beers, which is why I stopped in on a recommendation from a fellow BA. I honestly didn't look at their entire selection, as I was on a mission to snag some local brews.

Being from Colorado, we don't get many MI brews, so I had to snag what I could while at the Lager Mill.

The thing that impressed me the most was the customer service I received from Tom Taylor, the manager. He walked me through the selections and broke 6-packs for me so I could snag some singles. And the singles prices were very reasonable too. He said they are trying to provide more singles than in the past.

I would, without hesitation, stop at the Lager Mill again and recommend it to others as well. The building itself is also impressive when you first approach it. Next time I'll have to see the museum.

Very nice store with a brewing museum in the works, but was not open yet on my visit. The store is in an old flour mill I believe.

My visit was only a few weeks after their grand opening. Very nice selection that I am told is still growing.

Price is insanely cheap. I left with some really good bargains on beer and T- shirts from some of my favorite breweries.

Small home brew supply shop. Has all the essentials for a new brewer to get started.

A place I will visit the next time I go for chicken dinner!
