2020 vintage
Pours with no head, looks still, clear honey orange blonde color

Nose plenty of souring bacteria funk, tart funk, sour peach, some tart citrus, stone fruit, sour blonde ale, some vanilla barrel notes and general vanilla, hint of white wine and touch of bourbon

Taste big sour funky note, tart citrus, juicy sour peaches and juicy stone fruit, rich vanilla, both fresh vanilla and some whiskey, a bit of crisp rich white wine oaked Chardonnay like, some general oak, souring bacteria funk, bright acidity and a bit of alcohol, more juicy peach late, sour funk tartness makes my mouth water for a while, a tart cranberry like character as well

Mouth is med bod, lighter carb, fair alcohol warmth, big acidity

Overall very nice beer, good sour, good peach and juicy fruit in general, a nice wine barrel and hint of the whiskey but good barrel characters in general, an all around great beer

Absolutely phenomenal Wild Ale. Delicious blend of quad and blonde Ales barrel aged to perfection. Peaches, vanilla and of the good wild stuff come together with a wonderful complexity smoothed out by the bourbon and wine barrels. Cascade does this better than anybody else and it isn't even close.

this is so good, some of the best cascade out there, sick to score some on tap courtesy of the handlebar, they seem to always have some heady cascade stuff in the house. this is a blend of barrel aged sours, some in bourbon and some in wine, done with peaches, and its amazing. not a ton of head from the tap, or rather it settles fast, a rust orange tone to it, some light haze, a little viscosity too teasing the higher abv. the nose is awesome, quite sour as so much of the cascade stuff is, but the peaches are obvious, surprisingly i get as much wine as i do bourbon, and it almost smells kind of belgian too, candy and fruity esters together, woody, complex as they come. the flavor is great too, nice and barrel forward with some of the alcohol peaking through right away, the peaches are ripe and obvious, almost caramelized or grilled or something, stewed, cooked, neat with the barrel char, and overall this is very tart but not as acidic as it smells, and not as intense as a lot of cascade beers, even though its still pretty sharp. the peaches are super well integrated, they play amazingly well with the malts in this, richer chateau type grain bill here, some of the quad in the blend is evident to me as this warms. for me it could use a little more carbonation, it sags a little and gets heavier as it comes up to temperature, but i love everything about this, the flavors are awesome, and i like the mix of wine and bourbon on it, makes it super unique. one of the better cascade beers i have had in some time, impressively dynamic. yum!

edit: 2020 vintage in the bottle was sourer than i remember the draft being, and the vanilla addition is as front and center as the fruit is, not something i remarked on in the draft, where it was a total peach party. i think the bourbon isnt as robust either, more wine to me, which is unexpected given the name, plenty of oak though, shockingly well hidden alcohol for how strong it is, and still delicious juicy ripe summery peach all through it. faint vinegar to the sourness makes it pretty intense to drink a lot of, but its softened some by the natural vanilla bean character and fruity sweetness. i think i get trace smoke here too, cool with the fruit and the wood. complex and delicious, a touch dessert-like, and overall i think the draft was a little more dialed, but this was fun to try in this format as well. thanks to my buddy for procuring, saving, and sharing so generously. cascade rules still!

A: Poured into a Duvel tulip to a deep golden orange tropped by a dense and slightly rocky finer and a half of off white head which fades slowly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing
S: Smells of a nose full of juicy peaches and sourness with a touch of oak and funk.
T: Taste is huge sour peach note with some nice funk going on along with a little oak. Hints of vanilla at times along with a little bit of leather. Slight musty barnyard and wet hay as well at times. On the swallow there's more sour peaches, oak, light vanilla, and slight lingering funk
M: This beer has a body which is fairly middle of the road with a slightly syrupy feel to it. Carbonation is effervescent and slightly prickly at times while the beer has a drying finish due to the acidity.
O: Overall this beer hits just as advertised. Really nice juicy peach notes with a balancing amount of sourness. This is a little more funky than some of the other Cascade beers but that's alright with me. Well worth a try if you can find this one.

Pours a foggy, murky burnt-orange with a finger of off-white foam that dissipates quickly. Aroma is peach - first and foremost - with a little lemon squeeze, clove, flower, and toasty, nutty malts. It has a distinctly sour note, but not as in 'the peaches went bad.' Flavor profile is deep and fleshy peach with a ripe finish. Lemon, clove, flower, caramel and toasty and nutty malts offer up a little depth and support, but the narrative is - peach and sour. Lactic sour bite at the finish grabs the tongue and gives it a firm twist. As a '16 bottle consumed in '19, the sourness may have taken off a bit more as the beer aged. Mouth feel is a prickly, crisp effervescence with a lightly soft texture at the finish. It has a medium-thin consistency. Overall, peaches through and through and sour with a solid and firm bite.

Served in a 15.5oz Speigalau tulip from a 750mL bottle. 2016 bottle. Consumed 8/12/19.
