Notes / Commercial Description:
This NW style sour blond ale was barrel aged for up to nine months, then aged on fresh apricot for an additional six months. Aromas of sweet apricot blossoms and tart fruit are present as you draw the glass near. Deep, rich apricot flesh, then tart apricot notes dance on the palate and lead to a sweet apricot flesh finish with a lingering fruit tartness.

Not Fou but still a great example of an apricot sour. Very tart with Apricot flesh and and skin flavor really putting this beer over the top. Can't wait to try more from Cascade.

This is very good. The apricot works terrifically well. Nice and tart, just shy of too much, with a big fruit flavour with minimal sweetness. A little bit of funkiness, but it is pretty slim. Some oak. Quite a clean taste. Very refreshing, with a tingly body that is lively but not annoying. Really nice and a great display of apricot.

Tart apricots, sour lemons, and super sour warheads dominate the aroma early. I was surprised to find that the smoky oak character ubiquitous in almost all Cascade brews was missing from the back of the tongue at first, but it popped up after the brew was given some more time to warm up. Milder nuances of fruit skins and hay also join the fray along side the oak.

This is impossibly sour. I'm pretty sure I've had beers that were probably more sour than this in my lifetime, but for some reason I couldn't get around how sour this beer was when I first sipped it.

The lemon vinegar like astringent sourness is somewhat balanced by a soothingly mild apricot backdrop, which after a while rounds out the acidity and becomes a more pleasant fruity tartness. Not too sure on the usual oaky Cascade notes as my palates were too busy recovering from the hellfire of sour, but there was a hint of funk and hay toward the end of the glass.

Medium-light body with a decent amount of prickly carbonation; crisp and I would say refreshing had it not been for the unstomachable level of sourness that I experienced at the onset. This could probably benefit with a heftier malt bill, or at least something to neutralize the sour-gut inflicting acidity this brew seems to have taken on, but I can definitely see this satisfying many a twisted fantasies of sour freaks around the globe

Yellow and really hazy. Little carbonation, and 2 fingers of yellow-white head.

Smells of apricots, and its fruity with hints of sour, unripe fruit. Lambic qualities, with dusty cellar and wooden barrels.

Wonderfully sour and dry, Cantillon style all the way. Fruity apricots, but no evident sweetness. Sour lambic funk, acidic lemons, hints of wood and oak from the barrel ageing.

Thick and sour body. moderately low carbonation.

Got at Whole Foods in Santa Rosa, CA a month ago. Drinking in New Hamburg, Oct 13th, 2016. Super good brew. So close to the dry, unsweetened, Brussels classics I love. So glad to have gotten my hands on this one.
