2009 Project

Appearance: Blackberry colored with a rocky ecru head; plenty of lacing hangs around

Smell: Woody and lactic, with Port, Cabernet, blackberry, cherry and fig

Taste: Fruity and lactic, with cherry, blackberry, red wine grapes and a hint of fig; the funk and woody flavors build through the middle; tart and dry on the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation; somewhat puckery

Overall: Unbelievable how fruity this remains six years later; a tremendous achievement

Enjoyed on draft at Cascade, poured into a snifter. Pours a deep garnet red with two fingers of head and oily lacing. Loads of tart cherries in the nose and a bit of funk. The taste follows suit, much more tart than I expected from the nose. There's definitely some notes of vinegar present. Like most of their beers, the alcohol is very well hidden. Lot's of stuff happening with this funky little brew. I recommend you try this one for yourself and let us know what you think. Cheers!
