Growler shared at the July Santa Cruz tasting. Pours a clear orange-gold with a fine white head. Aroma is super dank, pure weed with a bit of unripe grapefruit. Flavor loses that juicy potent hoppiness a little, instead tending more toward floral and citrusy notes. Decent malt profile, some pale and some caramel, a little sweet. Solid lasting bitterness and a nice palate. Some leafy herbal notes in the flavor and better attenuation would carry this beer a long way, but it's still good.

Poured a hazy orange-amber into a pint glass with a small finger of white head. Gentle aroma with just a bit of pine and some grass hops.

Moderate carbonation and a full, creamy mouthfeel. Nice toasty toffee backbone with some gentle floral hops followed by a slightly more puckering grapefruit bitterness on the finish.

Not too intense, but very balanced and refreshing.

Note: Catching up with a serious backlog of review notes. Had this beer In August '09 @ Saraveza. On tap in a shaker pint.

Rich golden body with a smallish white head that manages to leave some decent lacing. Smells lightly sweet with a nice fresh herbal/leafy hoppiness. Huge puckering bitterness is somewhat of a surprise, but a pleasnt one. Light biscuity malt stays on the sideline and lets the hops do their thing. A lingering sting of bitterness for several moments after the swallow.

Overall impression: These guys get all the headlines for their sours, but can certainly turn out a respectable 'normal' beer as well. Recommended to try if you happen to run into it.

On-Tap @ Bailey's Taproom poured into Shaker glass.

Pours a golden-orange with a fizzy white head that lingers for sometime before creating a nice layer atop the glass. The aroma is bitter, sticky earthy hops accompanied by some soft malt. The flavor is very malt forward with some hops to follow with a lasting bitterness that ends dry. Its light-medium bodied with a nice carbonation. Its nice light, not overly bitter, palatable but does end up seeming a little hot. Not too bad though.

Had on draft at the Raccoon Lodge in Beaverton, OR.

L: Hazy, copper coloring with an off white, one finger head that left heavy lacing. Head retention was fairly low.

S: Hoppy, pine and just the slightest hint of bread.

T: Dank and resinous up front followed by a citrus, bitter rind flavor that lingers, finishing with the slightest malt flavor.

F: Medium body, acidic and good carbonation.

O: Good summer IPA. Menu says 7.5% abv and 60 ibu, but it wasnt very boozy and was pretty bitter all the way through. From a company that excells at Sour Ales, this was a decent offering and I would have it again.
