A Blender’s Reserve spiced blond quad that was aged in Makers Mark barrels for 16 months then spiced with orange peel and honey.

Unfiltered, slightly hazed dark orange with a very small off-white head, though this leaves significant cling down the glass. Pretty.

This smelled just like I imagined it would: bright, vibrant orange flesh and peel, some vanilla, mild wood, some funk, and a bit of an alcohol presence. Very nice, though the alcohol sharpness shined more and more as the beer warmed.

A delicious and complex orange sour: bright orange notes, sharp lactic sourness, mild earth funk, some vanilla and cream, wood, and a bit of alcohol. Complete.

Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, and a just a bit syruppy and sharp with alcohol.

Very good, though with a lighter, higher carbonated body, I think this would be just amazingly good. If this were bottled as is, I think it could develop into something exceptional in 6 months or so.

On-tap at Stone Sour Fest

Pours orange in color with a small head. Definitely get a sweet orange aroma to this. There’s also a definite acetone note, which kind of ruins it. Some bourbon and vanilla redeem it a little bit. Only a mild tartness. The flavor is much better than the aroma. A subtle tartness to go with a pronounced sweetness of the bourbon/vanilla, orange, and honey flavors. Interesting beer, too bad the aroma was not enjoyable.

On tap at Toronado San Diego's Cascade night during CBC. This was kegged off from a live barrel.

A: Dark orange, vibrant, and slightly hazy with a small white head. Great color.

S: Whiskey, honey, light booze, and strong orange notes create an awesome combination. Lactic and tart. Pervasive spiciness with grain and apple. Exceptional aroma.

T: A tantalizing medley of honey, orange, and vanilla. Delicious whiskey presence. Light tartness with an upper low to lower moderate lactic sourness. Faint leathery notes with a subtle spiciness. Lightly spicy and boozy honey vanilla whiskey orange finish.

M: Lower medium body with low carbonation. Mouthfeel is sticky and lightly tannic.

Overall: Exceptional. One of the best Cascade beers I've had.
