12 oz can, tulip/wine glass hybrid, canned 8/26/19.

Pours chocolate brown with hints of molasses and a tall tan head. Good lacing.

Metallic, diner coffee, herbal hops, chocolate graham cracker.

Significant herbal hop flavor that presents basil and white pepper. Cocoa, instant coffee, and a roasty dry finish.

Medium-light body, medium carbonation, and a dry, verging on gritty feel.

I’m really enjoying the dryness, hop character, and that chocolate, roast, or coffee are not the focus. There’s a lot of flavor, it’s just not what most expect from a porter these days.

Can. Dark brown. Clear but looks on the thin side. A diminishing frothy head.
Quite a robust malt centred aroma. Coffee.
Tastes like lightly toasted brown bread.
Light to medium body. Moderate carbonation.
An unassuming porter.

A very nice Porter. Easy drinking. Lacks some of the mollasses taste like some other Porters, which is actually quite good. Deep and rich, yet could go a wee bit heavier just for fun.

Received as a Christmas gift, as part of a mixed twelve-pack. Have had a few brews from these guys, all solid, if not spectacular. I'm almost exclusively an IPA guy, but I do like porters. This is nice, would get again.

12 oz can, I can find no dating info.

Dark brown pour, frothy mocha cap, leaves better than decent and quite copious super fine bubble sheeting

Chocolate sniff, with some cafe au lait.

Dry n tasty, more chocolate, more coffee, Belgian yeast drying things out and adding some complexity...worthy and enjoyable porter.

Can from a variety pack. Rather disappointing. Promising appearance and aroma, but the taste is bit heavy on fruit and biscuity malt and lighter on coffee and chocolate. Not really for me.

4/9/17...pours very dark brown, bordering on black with tan foam that subsides. Light coffee nose, subtle roasting. Slight fruity open, spilling into a medium roast coffee grit malt. Dry finish, lingering light bitter. Nice porter.

A very dark brown color. The head was tan, thick, and long-lasting.
Roasted malt aroma. Not much else.
Coffee and chocolate taste. Some dark fruit.
Medium-bodied.
OK by me, not outstanding.

From the can dated 12/01/16. Sampled on March 3, 2017.

The pour is a dark brown color with a lasting tan head that laves lacing as it fades.

The aroma has a nice smoky and sweet dark roasted malt character with little to no hops to be found.

Light body.

There is this sort of vegetable mash in the taste but it is still shadowed over by the roasted sweet and smoky malts and the lingering dry finish. A decent Porter except fort that mashy thing. It could be because it is 3 months old.

A: Pours a coal black color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a thin cap

S: Lots of roast, dark fruits, and Belgian yeast influence up front. Some dark chocolate notes in there as well

T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the roasted malts, dark fruit, and Belgian yeastiness and goes into some bitter coffee and dark chocolate notes. Finishes with lingering yeast and dark fruitiness

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. On the pricklier side

O: A nice porter (although I wouldn't subject it into the straight American style, due to the Belgian yeast) that is easy to drink and has some nice complexities. Interesting and worth checking out

WFM offers this 12pack sampler. Try 12. The porter rocks. In cans.
Appearance: Pours a workman-like black brown with a two-finger thick, rocky, lasting and lacing head. Looker.

Smell: Chocolate, the seas side, cocoa, dark malt, the boardwalk, a jetty. But too faint.

Taste: Follows nose but much bigger. Nice woodshop, sawdust, some wood fire, along with the sweet malt, figgy, complex flavors, and again, a salt air. Would blend well.

Feel: Full bodied, aiming into long, tingly, kissy, bitter chocolate finish.

Overall: Get 12 at WFM.

Half pint on tap at the brewery.

Appearance: Pours a stout-like dark brown with a one-finger leathery head.

Aroma: Chocolate, cocoa, dark malt.

Taste: Follows nose. Classic porter. Chocolate is most dominant, I feel.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied but drinkable. Nice bitter chocolate finish.

Overall: Excellent porter. Excited to see this in stores year round.
