My first impression was a very nice head that faded but left some lacing on my tulip glass. Copper color. Smelled mango and some other faint tropical citrus. It tasted very light bodied for a double IPA. Overall, a nice sipping brew on a cold New England night next to the fire.

12 oz. on tap at Hella Good.

Appearance: Solid copper with a short white head. White lacing.

Aroma: Big grapefruit presence. Hops, pine, citrus.

Taste: Follows nose. Big punch of hops and fruit. Hoppy. Nice!

Mouthfeel: A sipper at the high ABV, but not abrasive.

Overall: Very nice big IPA. Hits all the notes.

Caramel color and nice smooth fizz. Tastes of hops is bitter but ends on a nice sweet herb tone. The bitter then returns after the swallow. Very nice bouquet and lovely flavor. Drank at slab a pizzeria in Portland Me with my family. 2017

S - Weedy and vinous, citrusy, some biscuit.

T - Spicy, some peppery, citrus. Nice lingering bitterness.

M - Medium body with a little bit of thinness to it.

A burnt gold color, bubbly whire foam falls around and keeps a thick ring with minor lacing.

The aroma has a wonderful, juicy and tropical hop zip. Tropical punch with lemmon and citrus. Honey and caramel sweetness in the malt.

A rather intense bitter hop flavor hits first, dry and earthy tones with a loong, grassy, citrus and very juicy hop complexity. Boozy and herbal with a very toasty, caramel malt balance. Very well rounded, decent complexity with a very impressive dry-bitter hop quality.

The feel is full and juicy with a dry-leafy finish. A bit hot from the abv. The heat really just adds depth to the mouthfeel.

My favorite aspect is the aroma, the powerful tropical juicy aroma is high quality.

When in the northeast, the beer flavor is all about the "juicy". And Sebago delivers on hoppy aspiration with an imperial IPA with a bright and citrusy character, a bold body and a refreshingly bitter finish.

Even Whistle Punk's appearance suggests something citrusy as its color is hazy orange with light amber and bronze hues in low light. Its creamy eggshell froth unleashes a plethora of hop fragrances from ripe citrus to tangy tropical varieties and with a spicy scent of grasses, herbs and spruce.

As the toasted sweetness slowly softens, the hops take control with a increasingly bold flavor. Tangerine, red grapefruit and the brightness of lemon blend into a tropical taste of tart passionfruit, light pineapple and mango. As a smooth bitterness develops, the succulence of fruit trends pleasantly grassy, herbaceous and of fresh pine shavings.

Medium full on the palate, its complex malt skill allows a toasty, nutty and bready taste to permeate the otherwise clean and crisp dryness as the beer closes.

Enjoying a 16oz pour in a pilsner glass at Cask & Vine, for $7.50.

It's a rich, mostly clear golden color, with minimal carbo. Head is a thin layer of fine white foam, with solid lacing left behind. Aroma has some nice passion fruit and citrus. Body is a good medium, with a decent feel on the tongue.

Flavor has a touch of caramel malts, but it's on the light side. More passion fruit is present, along with some mild tangerine and then a bit of bitter, pithy citrus. It's a touch dry in the finish, with that bitterness lingering a spell. Solid, all-in-all. Prosit!

Good color. Caramel, smoky, sweet, but very very slightly bitter. This makes for a well balanced taste. Excellent mouthfeel. Not much aroma. Above average for a DIPA and on my list to drink again.

Big, fruit-intense IPA. I had a similar drinking experience with Fiddlehead's Mastermind, whereas that beer tastes like pineapple juice, Whistle Punk is all guava juice. Not sure why I pull such an isolated fruit-specific experience. Guava and passion orange on the nose and the taste. The caramel malt doesn't do much to balance the beer and it adds a bit of sweetness. Nicely bitter but the overwhelming taste is pungent, sticky guava.

A rolling tan froth tops this shiny amber brew. Get plenty of caramel and herbal hop in the aroma. Tastes of spiced candy with a punch of herbal hops and fruit juice (think apple) for good measure. On the lighter side of medium with a furtive alcohol heat. Nice little surprise of a DIPA.

10 oz pour into tulip glass on tap.

A: Carmel amber in color with a very tiny white head clarity was a little hazy.

S: citrus, pineapple, mango, very sweet candied smell and bready

T: The taste was not as promienent as the smell all of the smell was there but dialed back a little. Incredibly sweet on the finish and bready malty.

M: Medium to fuller with just a little bit of syrupiness.

O: This is a pretty good beer from Sabago, while being noted as a mediocre brewery this is a nice fruity DIPA. It probably isn't worth buying a 6 but if you see it on tap give it a whirl you will be pleased.

Always a treat when the Punk comes around. Solid DIPA w/ a great aroma followed by a nice citrus-y flavor. Will get a little bitter if it gets toward room temp, but it usually doesn't get to that when it's in my hands.

So this is a brewery that used to be one of the best in town. Then all the awesome breweries moved into Portland and this place was left in the dust. Maybe this can help them get back on track. Canned on 4/28/16

Pours a decent fizzy foamy head fades semi slowly, great lacing, crystal clear honey orange color.

Nose brings mild tropical notes, little fruity bubblegum, passion fruit, dank resin with a little oniony note and gaunt pine sap, big earthy note, candied orange peel citrus and papaya, with a cracker toasted grainy malt.

Taste brings more onion pine sap resin, earthy forest floor, some tropical notes with more passion fruit papaya and green mango skin, fair bitterness, mild sweet caramel candy malts, toasty amber malt and sweetness with a bit syrupy note, some booze warmth late. Finish sticky syrupy little booze warmth, more onion and pine sap lingering, earthy spicy hop too.

Mouth is med bod, little syrupy sweet little booze, nice carb.

Overall well, they are still way behind the curve, besides likely mosaic and a bad hop flavor, the execution of the hop and malt profile in general is just lackluster and pretty poor.

Consumed 6/7/16

A: Medium orange-gold with some tangerine highlights - some chill haze - pours with a medium sized, white head, fades to a few wisps, retains a small collar and leaves streaks and spots of lacing

S: Burly citrus and some straight-up resin - orange and grapefruit juice, oil - lots of citrus zest and pith - floral citrus - herbal and grassy notes - straight-up hop resin and some pine - some earthiness - pale and caramel malts at the base, with some bread and caramelized grains - touch of sweetness and booze

T: Big, oily citrus with some orange and grapefruit - citrus flesh, but more of an emphasis on the rind/zest - loads of pith - very resinous, with straight-up hops - herbal and leafy notes - some sticky pine - pithy bitterness that lingers, above-average bitterness overall - earthy - pale and caramel malts with some bread and light biscuits - sharp booze in the finish that lingers to the extent that this tastes beyond 8%ABV

M: Medium body, medium-low carbonation, smooth, oily

O: List nut punk!

Drinking more than one of these may impede your ability to whistle. Whistle Punk has some nice citrus and some potent bitterness, but the sweetness and hints of booze are a bit much. This is worth a try, but so are so many other DIPAs in 16oz cans.

From the 16 oz. can. Sampled on May 21, 2016.

The pour is golden yellow under a big off-white foamy head. Good clarity.

The aroma is floral, fruity, and toasty. About what I expected.

Medium to full body.

The taste: A quick dance with toasted malts but then the floral and fruity hops really kick in and take everything over. Finishes clean but very bitter. A beer I will not forget.

Pours a clear golden color with a 1 finger off-white head. Leaves some nice, splotchy lacing.

The aroma brings a ton of pine and grapefruit, as well as some light orange zest. There's also some sweet, caramel malt to hold it all together.

The flavor is very citrusy up front, lots of grapefruit, followed by that nicely bitter pine note. Has a very nice, sweet malt character to balance everything out.

The feel is relatively light bodied with moderate carbonation. Very smooth and creamy, and drinks much lighter than the ABV. Slightly dry finish with a bit of lingering bitterness.

Overall, an impressive DIPA. I honestly wasn't expecting much but this beer exceeded my expectations. It's hoppy, well-balanced, and drinkable as hell. Very good beer.

Picked up a 4/pack of 16oz cans today at the local bottle shop. I hesitated a little bit as there was no date that I could find on the cans. The beer poured a golden color with a slight orange haze. There is little to no head in spite of an aggressive pour. It does leave some nice lacing on the glass. The nose is fairly subdued with some soft citrus aromas coming to the front. The taste is smooth with some mango followed by a little piney resin in the finish. Not overly bitter. A very pleasing DIPA in all. Just wish there were dates on the cans.

Canned on 4/25. Grapefruit zest, pith and rind, tangerine juice and orange. Balanced between the sweeter malt backbone and pine bitterness. Highly attenuated, medium bodied and semi dry finish. This is good. Kinda reminds me of a midwest dipa.

A: Pours a golden yellow color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a very spotty head that leaves some nice lacing

S: A good mix of juicy citrus and spicy hops along with a solid malt base that lends a light sweetness and a bready note

T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the juicy citrus notes and slowly flows into some light spicy and resinous piney notes before picking up the malt sweetness and bready notes. Finishes with moderate bitterness and more juicy notes

M: Medium bodied with moderate, soft carbonation

O: A very nice and drinkable DIPA with a good balance of juicy, moderately bitter hop notes and malt sweetness. Definitely worth a purchase

Nice hazy look with a nice head that leaves some lacing. Citrusy with nothing that overwhelms my nose, just mellow. Taste is hoppy, very nice hoppy and was everything my beer geek friend told me it was and that's why I bought it. mouthfeel is just smooth. Overall I would buy this again and again in a heartbeat. One of the better beers Sebago has done and would be a great beer to have in the fridge for drop in friends, or just ME.

I poured the Whistle Punk from a can into a mug. It is the first time I tasted it. I really enjoyed this DIPA.

(L) It has a cloudy dark golden hue, like apple juice, with one inch off white head.

(A) The aroma is grassy, citrusy, and pretty pleasant.

(T) The taste is grassy, grapefruit, some grapefruit peel, but not too bitter and sweet dankness.

(F) A bit thin, dry, significant carbonation.

Look: Light copper or amber in color; completely transparent. Pours with no head; just a layer of foam on the surface if the beer that dissipates leaving a very thin broken up layer of foam and a small amount of lacing on the sides of the glass.

Smell: Predominately citrus (largely grapefruit); some floral; mild hops.Very enticing.

Taste: Starts off with a mild grainy, grassy flavor; progresses to a fairly strong acidic, citrus flavor (think tart grapefruit); ends with a tart lemony, hoppy finish. Refreshing and lively, but somewhat acidic.

Feel: Thinner-side of medium body; a fair amount of fizzy sensation from the carbonation; mouth pucker from the tartness. Extremely mild dry finish; not too dry - just right.

Overall: Decent refreshing DIPA; however I have had others that I prefer over this one. A little too acidic and tart for my personal tastes. I certainly would drink this again, but this is not what I would reach for first at my local beer store.

A - Clear amber, orange body with a fluffy white head that fades slowly and leaves heavy lacing.
S - Citrus hops, sweet malt combines and melds well with the hops. Sweetness reminds me slightly of bubble gum.
T - Pine resin ends up being the dominant hop flavor, with some medicinal herbal characteristics. Malt backbone is present and some light alcohol burn.
M - Medium to slightly thick body. Low carb. Dries the palate.
O - This is an excellent DIPA. Certainly more west cost than the emerging NE style. I'm a fan.
