Bass Ackwards Berryblue AleBass Ackwards Berryblue Ale
Notes: Bass Ackwards Berryblue Ale is brewed during the Maine blueberry harvest. It is an unfiltered, all-natural mild pale ale made with real Maine blueberry juice. It is a refreshing, well balanced beer that has a crisp, fruity aroma and finishes clean and dry. The name Bass Ackwards Berryblue Ale is for its unconventional use of only fresh blueberries in the fermenter. The result is a surprisingly simple drinkability that enables you to drink more than one. Try a Black and Blue, our Bass Ackwards mixed with our rich Lake Trout Stout.

"Try this", my wife said. "I don't like fruit beers," I responded. This summer beer was still available in mid-January. It was a pretty beer, with a red color and a nice pink head. It had a strong berry odor to it, and a sweet berry taste with a tiny bit of hoppy aftertaste. It felt rather insipid in my mouth. It probably tastes good for those who like this sort of beer.

Pours a white, one-finger head that goes to a ring and leaves no lace. Almost clear amber color. Light carbonation and light-medium bodied. Fruity nose maybe its blueberry. Starts and finishes as a mild fruity summer time ale, the hops and malts are nicely balanced. $4.39 for a 22oz bottle from Tully's Beer & Wine Wells, Me.
