Our Fall seasonal Local Harvest Ale is brewed with hops and barley grown in Maine with the clear water of Sebago Lake. Local Harvest Ale is mahogany in color and has an intense bouquet of citrus, pine and lemongrass which comes from hopping this beer four ways: In the mash, in the kettle, steeped and dry hopped. After your first sip you will taste the fresh wet hops and the finish flavor of oily hops on your tongue. You will desire yet another sip. This auburn Autumn classic is balanced with the careful addition of chocolate and caramel malts to create this extremely popular local beer. Please support Maine agriculture and enjoy the harvest!

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a copper color with a touch of transparency about it. Carbonation seemed bouncing it's way to the top (was that hitting hop leafs, not sure, but I could see that something "flakey" looking was floating around inside the glass). Finger's worth of white foamy head started and dissipated at a nice pace. Some stringy lace ran here and there.
The aroma had a nice blend of citrus to floral hops, semi-bold and up front with that "oily sweet" to subtle danky yet forgiving character to it. More pineyness opened up with some warmth and a natural biscuit-like maltiness came in for balance at the end.
The flavor leaned into the sweetness of the citrus to floral hops initially and then seemed to grab a little bit of crisp danky to oily sweetness as it warmed. Nice smooth hoppy floral to oily aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fine sessionability about it. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt as projected. Lovely hop oily semi-smooth finish.
Overall, years ago, I thought this beer was the absolute "bees knees" up there with the likes of Zombie Dust, PseudoSue, MBC Peeper and Daisy Cutter, and though my marks might not be as high as those beers, I still have to admit this is brewed quite nicely. Those fresh hops just hit the spot.

You can tell they used fresh hops in the beer. Long lasting hoppy taste. Great copper color and rich in malt and bitterness

12 oz. bottle poured into a Libby craft glass.
Appearance: Pours a fairly deep amber color with a one-and-a-half finger cream head.
Aroma: Smells of malt and biscuit, and some floral, grassy hops.
Taste: Pretty hoppy for a standard pale ale. Otherwise a pretty familiar, malt-forward ale.
Mouthfeel: Average depth. Good for all seasons.
Overall: I love the concept of this beer, which is all local ingredients. The beer itself is a decent, traditional pale ale, with maybe a tiny bit of bonus hop bite.

12oz.
A: Pours a murky copper with an off-white head.
S: Bitterish piney hops, british, copper malt, caramel.
T: Leafy, mild molasses, bready, light orange flavor.
M: Medium-bodied with moderate carb.
O: A meh APA that is closer to an English bitter than anything American.
