Notes / Commercial Description:
Frye's Leap IPA is an intense experience. It is a hoppy medium-bodied ale and is full of character. From the caramel malt which gives our IPA its golden color to the distinct fruity hoppiness, this beer is every bit as exciting as its namesake, the popular cliffs on Sebago Lake. Enjoy this refreshing beer with seafood, spicy foods and all things grilled. Take the Leap!

Look: A beautiful light amber with a foamy head and moderate lacing.
Smell: Full citrusy scent over light maltiness.
Taste: Juicy, citrusy hops balanced with sweet malt background, not overly bitter.
Feel: Good carbonation, very smooth and drinkable.
Overall: Perhaps on the lighter side of IPA, but beautifully juicy and drinkable.

Poured from a 12oz can. Nice thick lingering head, very frothy. Yellowish amber color. Fresh, wintery, almost minty smell. Cool, herbal flavor to match. Strong resiny hop flavor but only mild bitterness. No maltiness to speak of but still well-balanced. Lingering hop flavor on tongue. Very drinkable with no boozy flavor. Refreshing but not warming or fortifying, so certainly a spring or summer beer. Relatively thin feel in the mouth. Somewhat more interesting than the average IPA without any flavor gimmicks or excessive hops. Middling 6.0 ABV and tastes like it, a pretty good level for a (short) session IPA.

Poured from can into tulip.

L - somewhat hazy orange, head fades fast

S - floral, apricot, buttery malts

T - mild hoppy apricot, into butter, some sweetness, bitter finish

F - nice light body, medium carbonation

O - actually pretty good if you feel like an IPA with slightly lower bitterness and ABV

Poured from a can to a pint glass. Has a mirky deep golden color. Has a hop smell but not oover powering. It has a nice balance of hops where not over powering and getting some citrus notes with some sweetness. Nice medium body to it. Very drinkable.
