I had this one at the brewpub across from the Maine Mall. The beer pours without too much head. There isn't any lacing down the glass either. The color is a bit of a lighter amber. There is a big grapefruit nose of hops. There is some maltiness to the taste, with more than its fair share of bitterness. This tastes more like an IPA than an Oktoberfest.

On tap at Sebago Brewing Co in downtown Portland, ME.
The beer pours a golden orange amber, topped with a thin swirl of mist. Lots of cabonation bubbles floating up.
Aroma is very hoppy, with a clean caramunich maltiness. A touch of appley fruitiness, with lots of herbal noble hop aroma.
Flavor is initially malty, with a pleasant caramunich malt dominating. Carbonation is a little overwhelming. Very sparkly and effervescent. Hops come in quickly, overriding the malt with a tangy citric bitterness. Some grapefruit flavor, with some fruity apple. An herbal hoppiness finishes the beer, with a bit of pine flavor. Slightly oily hoppy finish, with no malt presence. A lingering herbal bitterness in the aftertaste, sticking with you for ages.
Way too hoppy for an octoberfest, this one's hoppier than their IPA. It's pretty tasty, but not quite what I wanted, and definitely not what I was expecting.

Beer bought on tap at The Great Lost Bear. Nice looking beer with an amber red color and a decent head that left some lace.
The aroma was a nice hoppy flowery smell with very little malt sweetness in the background.
Flavor was nice with a lot of hops in the forefront and a clean dry finish with a hint of malt sweetness. This was a really nice tasting beer, but it doesn't belong in the Oktoberfest category. While I was drinking this at the Great Lost Bear I thought it had way too much hoppy bitterness for a Marzen/Oktoberfest beer. I do not proclaim to be an expert, but I have tried a lot of Oktoberfest beers and been to Oktoberfest in Munich. This was a nice beer that might have gotten better scores if it had conformed to the the brewer's declared style for the beer.
