look: 2.5 | smell: 2.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.5

It pours a slightly hazy yellow with no head or lacing.

The first I notice is a strong smell of bread and sour dough, it took me a few moments to get past that and smell some wheat, citrus and fruity smells in there.

The taste is much more balanced, still some sour dough in there but it doesn't overpower the beer like it does in the nose. The rest of the flavours also follow the nose, citrus and fruitiness with a good dose of yeast.

Mouthfeel is nice and light, refreshing and easy to drink. Easily the best part of the beer.

Overall this is a nice brew but nothing special and the overwhelming bread and dough smells in the nose hurt the beer's drinkability.

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. Not sure what is going on with the label, but it appears to be quite offensive.

The beer pours a very light yellow color with a white head. The aroma is very heavy on the wheat and lemons with a little bit of yeast.

The flavor is more of the same. I get a lot of grain notes as well as some lemony citrus notes and some grassy hop notes. The flavor is decent, but nothing too exciting.

Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Pale blond color with white head. Aroma has spicy yeast esters with white peppercorn, herbs and coriander. Taste starts slightly sweet and malty with the same yeast notes. Finish is more bitter and earthy with a generic spiciness. Body is light and effervescent. Overall it's a well made, classic belgian pale ale.

First had this beer in De Bierboom, one of my favourite bars in Brugge. The correct glass is a wonderful horn shape and comes in a wooden holder, very impressive. This 33cl bottle however was poured into a Duvel glass.

A small amount of sediment left the bottle, so my pale golden beer had a very slight haze to it, on top a pure white foaming head sat majestically.

Citrus aroma, the sour type, lemons and grapefruits.

The taste is also dominated by those aforementioned citrus fruits, giving the beer a tart, refreshing, tangy feel and flavour.

The beer had a best before date of 8-2013 and was in good condition, being well carbonated and spritzy, the head producing some heavy lacing as the beer level sank down the glass.

A little too sour and citrusy for my tatses, but it is a pleasant enough beer and I remember enjoying it more out of it's own horn than I did during this review.

Pretty good, citric nose and slightly citrus. The mouth is a little weak, however, supported by a good hop that brings the rose and citrus flavor. Easy to drink. A small fromentée trend is noted but it gives a bitter finish but unfortunately dirty beer. What prevents it from going further, a bit like the Binchoise Blonde suffers a bit from the same problems

According to the legend, some Eastern Europeans mercenaries hanged a number of Belgians back in the 17th century hence the name of this brew, purchased at a very good price in Belgium.

It's a decent and very clear Belgian Pale Ale, at only 5,9%.

If ever back in Belgium, I'd purchase it again. I don't know how available it is outside of this kingdom. Cheers

Tasted in its own glass horn. Pours a hazy golden big head, with long retention, leaving a cloak on the surface. Great lace.
Aroma of orange, coriander, spices.
MEdium to full body, creamy texture, fizzy carbonation, bubbles coming up all the time.
Taste of citrics, spices, coriander.
