This 'german' beer bar leaves a lot to be desired.
It's built mostly for tourists and/or people that don't really care to know the difference between an ale and a lager. Although the beer selection is decent, it lacks imagination. There are so many excellent German beers, yet their selection is pretty commercial.
Also, the food is lacking as well. The menu did not offer very many choices (unless you like brats). Although the prices were not overly expensive, from a value standpoint you don't get any bang for your buck. You basically get to choose between 1 brat and potatoes or 2 brats and potatoes.
The decor is unauthentic and makes you feels as if you've gone to a Disney Land attraction. The patio consists of mostly picnic tables, which cheapens the feel of the patio. I'd much rather spend my summer nights enjoying a beer on the patio of the Glenn Hotel or F.A.B., which is nearby.
Go, if you haven't been just to say you've been. You won't go back...

Decent German beer house with decent German foods and some traditional beers. This place also uses the traditional beer garden long table seating and music. The German beer selection should be better, as should the service/staff training.

Hard to rate this place: I’m a huge fan of Biergartens, I appreciate the niche this place fills, but admittedly it falls very short of providing a true Bavarian Biergarten experience. The outside seating area is nice, but being on a rooftop overlooking a busy road just doesn’t provide the same dopamine hit that a real Biergarten does. They also capitalize on the novelty with Maß prices higher than Oktoberfest. Food is decent representation of German cuisine. Ok but I’d really appreciate a property Biergarten in Atlanta.

Visited 9 Feb 2012, weather in mid 50's, 6 pm. If your visiting the aquarium or the Coke museum or the Ga dome, this is very close. Easy overnight stay right across the street.
There is a beer hall and outdoor area with picnic tables. The place was almost empty on a Thursday night - no beer hall vibe that I was looking for. The crowd seemed to be business people and even though Tech is close no college crowd - probably due to $6 half liters and $11 liters. The beer selection is ok, Erdinger and Vitus on draft were the highlights - both of these are rare on tap in my experience. The only dark was Salvator. A few more choices in bottles.
Had a good pretzel that was very large but $9.
Maybe it's better attended in the summer but it was just dead during my visit.

A little piece of Germany in downtown Atlanta. They have both indoor and outdoor dining, so you can choose to eat al fresco if the weather is nice. They don't have much of a beer selection, but what they have available is good. Their beers on tap they offer in half liter and one liter steins. Food is tasty and reasonably priced. You should see the size of the pretzels! Service is good, fairly fast and helpful. They play traditional German music to add to the Biergarten atmosphere, but not so loud that you can't have a good conversation. This is a good place to get together with friends, or to have a Meetup.
