De Saveur Biere. En copa Teku. Jugando a Avernum 5. Dulce, tipico perfil de las scotch ales con notas a caramelo quemado y melaza. Correcta pero nada destacable

Got the bottle in 2014, having it now a month after it's "BBD" of June 2018. Still nicely carbed. Aroma has weakened but what you can get is still classic Scotch Ale. Taste is solid if only weaker of course. Finishes smooth and tasty. Kinda fun to try it this old.

Drank quite a bit too warm. Aromas of molasses, french toast, toffee, cinnamon, and maple. Sweet flavor profile that largely follows the nose. Medium mouthfeel, medium carb. The spice profile works

Pours dark brown, minimal head. Nose is quite boozy with some burnt brown sugar. Flavor is malty, biscuit, some dark caramel. Light bodied for 8%. Overall, not my favorite style, glad I tried it.

Another beer I've been wanting to try for a while, I came across several bottles at a shop in Glasgow and scooped them up. Pours a bit darker than cola, fairly clear, with a small head that left spotty lace. Nose was a bit like a bitter with fruity caramel malts and some light classic English hops. I'm not getting the spices, but it could just be melding with other scents. Taste is somewhere between a bitter and a barleywine. Sweet brown bread, light caramel, just enough bitterness to balance it out. Not really what I'd call a wee heavy as it strikes me more as a barleywine. Honestly, I thought this was better than the regular Traquair ale in almost every way. Overall, a good beer. I may re-review after trying one with some age on it.

Decanted from a 16.9 oz (500 ml) bottle into a conical pint glass; best before 2024.
A: Pours a cloudy, brown color with a half inch, light tan head, some spotty lacing, but better legs.
S: Bourbon and vanilla aromas at first, with deep roast malts imparting a chocolate >> than coffee aroma. Subtle birch roast, e.g. rauchbier, style note as it warms.
T: Complex. Semisweet with big caramel/molasses at first, becoming more unsweetened chocolate to cola, as it warms. Coriander, fig >> raisin, blackberry, and vanilla notes all present. Bitterness is light but right on target to enhance the overall flavor picture. Drinks remarkable cleanly.
M: Medium to full bodied with moderate but solidly persistent carbonation.
O: Jacobite Ale is a very nicely composed and beautifully executed Scotch Ale. It has a very complex nose and palate, but remains solidly drinkable and enjoyable. Really a treat.

Dark, burnished brown body; relatively thin yet creamy tan head. Caramel scents mixed with notes of toffee and brown sugar in the aroma. The flavor mimics the aroma with some additional hazelnut and mild hop bitterness added to things. Heavy body; smooth and chewy; mostly sweet finish.

If you love a malt-forward beer, rich and deep with flavor, this beer should be tried. Dense and delicious with dark grain goodness, delivering a pleasing, tempered sweetness, hiding the alcohol quite well, and leaving you satisfied and full.

Look- pours dark brown, ruby tinged around the edges

Aroma- sweet bready malt and something very herbal, I'm guessing the coriander

Taste- follows the nose closely with sweet bready malt up front followed by coriander, then a little bitterness

Feel- light bodied and soft

Overall- very unique flavorful beer. Not very complex, but the combination of sweet malt and herbal coriander work well together and balance each other out.

A little bit watery when we consider its high alcohol level.
Other than that, sturdy brew. Good balance of smoked malt and hoppiness. Not as sweet as some other Wee heavy I have had.
