Look: Deep dark royal purple and ruby with a small yet active head and quite a bit of activity. A very pretty beer!

Smell: Lots of sour and farmhouse funk on the nose followed by a dry blackberry sweetness and definite earthy barrel. Smells more like a earthy red wine then a beer. Smells great.

Taste: Wow a very mild funk to start then a slight sour that slowly fades to a deep rich earthy ponderous oak with a very delicate fresh blackberry finish that balances just sweet enough to expertly balance with that deep rich oak.

Mouthfeel: Slight tart on the attack but then becomes medium bodied before the huge oak which weighs heavy on the tongue and dries to a beautiful oaky earth finish. Carbonation is moderate.

Overall: Wow. This is easily one of the deepest most complex sours I've had and I truly enjoyed it. It definitely settles that sour craving but hidden behind that is a huge earthy oak that I love. I particularly loved how the blackberries don't just add a fruited note to this sour to make it accessible by sweetening it up but instead blend and add to that earthy oak that is so damn good
