Hazy dark orange with a large, off white foam leaving coral peaks and ridges all around the glass.

Smell is ground almonds and oaky barnyard funk with soft aged cheese, a hint of pungent overripe grapefruit and peach, and, I may be reaching, but a touch of that lime salt.

In flavor, I'm getting mildly tart, balanced flavors of light oak, light funk, herbal cedar and a blend of citrus and stonefruits. However, quite a bit of barnyard funk comes out in the swallow and on the exhale. It's almost alarming, but strangely comforting as well.

Crisp at first, filling with a softer froth, the medium body finishes with a semi-dry tingle.

Blend #1 05.31.2016

This beer pours amber in color with golden highlights. It is topped with several inches of lively head that leaves decent lacing.

The smell is tart and funky. There are hints of green apple.

The taste starts out a little fruity that turns to sour. Then I get some funk with a little bitterness. The finish is dry.

Medium mouthfeel with high carbonation level

I can definitely taste the Jolly Pumpkin influence. It is a very solid saison. I prefer more funk and sour, but I just like to bitch.

From on draft at Jester King. Pours a cloudy/hazy orangish golden color with minimal off-white head. Funk, citrus, lime, minerals, and some hay on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with salt and some lime and other citrus notes packed in with barnyard and funk. No cherry to speak of; thought there would be some present, but nothing to speak of from the MvB cherries.

Typical Jester King farmhouse/saison offering. Funky/Metallic taste with light body and smooth finish. I don't taste the cherries but maybe a hint of the lime. For JK fans only unless you it happens to be available.

This is a classic jester king style farmhouse ale with a bit of jolly pumpkin funk shining through. Pours a surprisingly dark color, but has a light body and crisp clean taste. I detect zero cherries

Draft pour at brewery. Opaque, deep orange near pumpkin color, some foam and lacing. Funky nose with citrusy hops. Taste has a funky edge that overwhelms the hop profile slightly. Medium body and carbonation.
