Poured typical spon golden orange from bottle, very small bubble on certain parts of surface. Smell is sweet grapes, wine barrel, slight acidic funk, lemon, and wood tannins. Taste is not as acidic or wet as other spons I have had, and the grape/raisin helps balance out the lemon and orange acidity. Smell was more vibrant, where taste loses some of the distinct funk and fruit, but still a delight. Touch dry on finish, but otherwise body has a spot on consistency for a lambic. I think part of my evaluation is tainted by my preference to spon syrah and sangiovese

Bottle pour at the source to snifter, very hazy dark yellow, slight head, no retention. Some grape on the nose along with JK funk. Taste mainly base beer with wine finish, moderately sour, and a light bitter. Feels a touch creamy.

Bottle pour at Jester King in Austin, TX.

This one pours a slightly pink and orange color, with a small head and a little bit of lacing.

This smells like sweet white grape and wine, with lots of woody oak, some lemon funk, etc.

The lighter grape flavor shows a bit more of the base Spon underneath, as it’s quite funky and lemony/stone fruity. The Muscat flavor is definitely sweet, as this is less acidic than I would’ve expected.

This is light bodied and pretty clean on the finish, with a soft level of carbonation.

From the few entries I’ve had, this is clearly a mighty fine series of American-style lambics.

9oz pour out of the bottle into a snifter.
Look is hazy and unfiltered amber/orange.
Smell is so damn complex .. Smells like wood upfront.. Strong, like I walked into an old church with wooden pews or something.. In a very good way.

Taste is tart but not too tart, I enjoyed it thoroughly, slight hint of Muscat.

Mouthfeel could be better, lacks a bit of carbonation but no biggie.

Overall an awesome brew, if you get a chance try it.

Cloudy gold colored pour with a minimal head that fades quickly. Typical Jester King sour fruit aroma. Taste isn’t as tart as expected from the aroma and is more subdued but is actually very good. Can taste a bit of grape skin and a hint of funkiness. Dry, light bodied, lightly carbonated and drinks really easy.
