This is one of the more interesting beers I have come across. A Farmhouse Mild? What could possibly go wrong? Very little, as it turns out. Poured cold from a 750-ml bottle into a proper lidded stein. Hazy, light caramel-sauce colored pour, with a two-finger very light tan head that settled into a thin ring with a spotty cap. Light caramel on the nose and palate, with Meyer lemon, rose petal, and a little barnyard funk. There is some very pleasant bitterness on the soft palate. Mouthfeel is light to medium. The finish is on the dry side, with a little lingering citrus and tart cherry. This is a very pleasant and drinkable beer, and at 2.9% ABV one could drink it all day long. This isn't going to have universal appeal, and it is quite expensive; however, if you like farmhouse ales, the uniqueness factor alone makes this well worth a splurge.

This one pours a muddled brown and fills to a very dark, reddish-brown, but in the sunlight it’s a shimmering, clear dark garnet. The head is a fuzzy khaki finger that dies to a creamy tan collar that has a soft cling.

Smell is funkier, nuttier, woodier, and cheesier than the beer turns out to be on the tongue, with notes of pie crust, candied nuts and brie.

Taste is lightly tart and very faintly smoked with toasty malt. It's almost like a wild Oktoberfest paired with some light, nutty oak and a tart lemon-cherry finish.

A medium to light crisp body finishes semi-wet, and the tartness seems like it increases with time, but subtly, helping it to become more complex.

Poured from a bomber into a tulip glass. Clear brown with a short lived head and good lacing. Nutty and sweet smell. Taste is earthy and slightly sour. Good beer.

Rated from notes: had at a share. Pours a cloudy ruby red color with off-white head. Caramel malts and some cereal grains, bread, and very light dark fruit notes on the nose; follows onto the palate. Not bad.
