My buddy acquired this beer in a trade.
This is a beautiful beer. Wonderful lacing leads me to believe that this would be a nice beer to age.

I love the smell of this beer. slightly sour, tart fruit smell, you can also smell the Brett!

Green apple taste, very soft drinkable mouthfeel considering how tart it is.
Well done Jesterking, by far the best beer I have ever tried from a Texas brewery.

Bomber poured into Jester King tulip.

Hazy light copper color, turning more to amber where the light hits it. Sizable initial head fades fast but does not disappear completely. Moderate lacing.

Lots of tart fruit and farmhouse funk in this one. Lemon and green apple come through the strongest. Some oak notes come through on the nose.

Immediate hit of tartness followed by fantastic sour notes that linger on the palate. Lots of earthy funkiness underlying both. This is very drinkable, but really rewards being sipped slowly and letting the flavors develop. Jester King bills themselves as a 'farmhouse' brewery and this beer really captures why that fits them so well.

Mouthfeel is light to medium with just enough carbonation to give a crisp finish. Think nice champagne.

If Jester King didn't make this in such limited quantities then I'd consider it their signature beer. The degree of tart/sour flavors here may make it a bit much for anyone who's not a fan of the style, but for those who are or are willing to give it a try this is well worth seeking out.

Served on-tap at Jester King on 2/1/14 into a small Jester King wine glass. Reviewed from notes.

Appearance: Opaque golden body, a small and loose head that persists quite a while.

Smell: Wow. That smells like blue cheese. Blue. Cheese. Can't say I was expecting that. If I had to be more specific, I'd say Roquefort Papillon, because of the fruity (raspberry?) hints that are present as well.

Taste: Yep, that nose didn't lie. This is blue cheese in beer form. Tart in a lemon juice kind of way, but not mouth-puckering. A relatively prominent maltiness is apparent too. Delicious, if you like blue cheese (I love it).

Mouthfeel: On the flatter side of carbonated, but enough for the beer. This sticks around in the mouth for a while.

Overall: Really unique, like so much that Jester King does, and I'm glad I tried it. I imagine I'll continue to seek it out, I really enjoyed the experience, as strange as it was.

Clear straw colored pour with a minimal head and medium carbonation. Funky smell with an aroma of tart grapes and a little grass. Taste is nice and tart with flavors of sour fruit including lemon and pear backed with some oak tones and a hint of green apple. Very effervescent mouthfeel. Finishes with a nice lingering tart green apple taste that could be compared to the taste of a Jolly Rancher candy.

Batch 3

A: Hazy Golden Orange with lots of sediment. No lacing and spots of foam ride the surface for the duration.

S: Grains, hint of lemon, hay, some funk. Smells like a good farmhouse should.

T: Lactic, grains, slight lemon and hay. Musty funk. Slight mineral flavor. Not much farmhouse spice.

F: Low to Medium Dryness. Low to medium carbonation level. Sour level is a 2 or 3 out of 10. More tart than sour. Slightly acetic

O: Very drinkable and easy to crush a 750 on my own. Complex enough to keep you interested. Wish the carb was a bit higher.

Kind of surprised that this is the base for atrial rubicite. If no one told me, I'd have never guessed.
