Swamp like clarity. Coffee roast on nose. Toffee, caramel and roasted malts. Piney, spicy, earthy hop profile.

Poured from tap into 12oz tulip at Terrapin, Rhinebeck, NY. Pours a crazy deep brown color - barely any light shines through - with nice thick tan head. Looks more like a porter than a brown..Smell is nicely roasted and bitter malts, toffee, caramel sweet. Taste is really nice bitter roasted caramel/toffee balancing nicely with the sweet malts. Its smooth and easy drinker. Crossroads is just great.

Had on tap at their pub
A: dark amber color, slight off white head with fair retention.
S: roasty malt, slight citrus
T: roasted malt base and citrus hop. More bitter than many brown ales but it works.
M: medium bodied.
O: crossroads is a must see and drink.

A: Nice deep brown ruby color. Minimal amount of white head. A touch of bubbly off white head.
S: The nose is of malt with a touch of caramel and tofee. It is kind of a tight nose but still enjoyable and to style.
T:Very much a brown ale. Not that much hops but a nice malt . complexity. Lots of toffee some caramel. It really just kind of falls in the middle. A good example but nothing to make it stand out.
M: A little bit thin in the body.
D: Very nice brown ale. Super drinkable and a ton of flavor.
