The great Citradamus predicts this IIPA will be one of your favorites. Citradamus is Melvin’s world class IIPA brewed with 100% Citra hops, pristine mountain water and northwest malt. Flavors of citrus (duh), pine and total dankness. Dry hopped with ludicrous amounts of Citra for that classic hoppiness that Melvin has become known for.

A-golden orange with two fingers worth of white head
S-lots of tropical fruits and citrus
T-taste also is full of tropical fruit sweetness and citrus with a light bitter finish
M-medium body and good carbonation
Overall I really like the tropical fruits in this one, alcohol is well hidden, dangerously drinkable

Poured from a can ,date is smudged -by the taste I think it's a bit old.None the less the nose is hoppy and resiny. Taste follows way behind the nose with a bit of skunkiness. Still quite good ,would like to have a fresh pour of this as I imagine it's mighty fine.

Delicious, and juicy, juicy, juicy! My kind of double IPA. Deeply satisfying with a substantial sweet malt backbone to layer those Citra hopw on top of. Excellent body as well- just a beautiful package. Well done!

It’s a solid beer until you consider that it is a double. The hoppiness is consistent with an IPA.
I am really starting to question the IBU calculation because I have had beers with a 60 IBU that are hoppier than this which is a supposed 88 IBU.
The only thing this beer has consistent with an imperial IPA is the alcohol content.

12oz can with a smudged canned on date, can't make it out. Opened 4/10/20.
2 finger off white head with great retention down to 1/4", the IIPA is a deep gold, copper color with very good clarity. Opens up with a thick ring of lace upon first sip and many more rings follow.
Nose of oranges, orange blossom, and honey over a sweet and lightly caramel malt base.
Sweet malt, hint of bread and caramel with a big wallop of orange and honey hop flavors. Some pine bitterness late.
Full bodied IIPA, medium carbonation and a somewhat oily mouthfeel. Bit of prickly heat @ 9.5%. Medium length finish full of orange rind and soft pine bitterness.
Good to very good. A little sweet for my tastes but at this high of an ABV it should be expected and shouldn't be dinged on feel.
Well made and a nice showcase for a lot of Citra hops.

Poured into a glass, it's a warm, deep amber with nice suds, still fresh. Its mildly cloudy but quite uniform so it looks to be crafted well. It's a great shade that evokes citrus without going too yellow. It's a full-flavored orange brew, there's no mistaking the OJish citrus aftertaste that coats the mouth. It reminds one that this is indeed a orange-laden beer, but emphasis on the beer. Not much sweetness here, although not overly hoppy it's unlikely to convince the increasingly common IPA naysayers. The essence of orange that's left on the tongue is a solid complement to the IPA pungency. Hits the tongue a bit sharply but otherwise feels like an IPA. If you like a Blue Moon with an orange then this oughta class you up a bit.
This one tastes great paired with Italian flavorings - Pasta with red sauce, salad w red onions/oil and vinegar etc. Give it a shot!

FIrst off - Great name / great label... Swirling pour yields two plus fingers of light khaki colored froth comprised of big chunky bubbles... The color is a copperish amber... Gobs of lacing cling to the sides of the glass... Big nose - You don't even need to bring your nose near the glass... Big whiffs of Citra hops and sweet citrus... Intoxicating aroma... The palate is 100% consistent with the nose... While certianly a hop bomb it's never overpowering or unbalanced... On the fuller side of medium bodied / lighter side of full bodied... A bit sticky and resiny... Slightly chewy... Excellent brew all the way around - I'm a huge fan... Wish this was available around me on a more regualr basis... Highly recommended...

Pours a light copper color with healthy finger of head. The nose is bright with citrus. The flavor profile is dominated by grapefruit with a wonderfully bitter finish that seems more pithy than hoppy.

On tap in a snifter/tulip. Snulip?
It’s cloudy. An unfiltered look. Not “hazy”, but bordering on. A bright orange gold with a substantial frothy head.
It is very fruity. Both in aroma and flavor. Doesn’t strike me a very citra forward beer. The grapefruit is there, but not real pithy or dank with a lot of earthiness. A bit sweeter, not just the heavy malts, with some orange and pineapple.
It hides the alcohol well, but it is on the heavy side. Just a touch sticky/syrupy. Crisp carbonation with a dry finish.
This is a pretty tasty big beer, but compared to some of my favorite citra hop featured beers, it’s not close. Really don’t get any of that earthy cattiness/dankness.
Also, after reading some other reviews, I wonder if this recipe has been altered to be more hazy like several breweries have done because this beer is nowhere near clear and in stark contrast to most Melvin stuff.
