Dear (insert your name here), This is the best damn DIPA in the world. So if you were even considering sulking today, think again. Our 2x4 Double IPA is the Gold Winner of numerous note-worthy awards, including the Alpha King Championship; two years in a row and counting. You'd be crazy not to drink this. Always a killer brew! Very few dipa’s are better than this one. Strongly recommended.

Front runner. A pretty early-arriving classic among modern double ipas.
Clean. Just straight pure clean hop gas in aromatics and flavor.
Punchy, deep, heavy but nimble. Wyoming’s best DIPA. Compare to Pliny the Elder.

Fresh 12 ounce can chilled in snow here in Salt Lake City, enjoyed straight up in the silver can.
This is a really good example of a Big DIPA, clocking in at a solid 9.9% ABV,
Taste is floral, citrus, slightly bitter hop notes balanced with sweet roasted malt and the obvious addition of lactose for heft.
Mouthfeel is slightly heavy but not syrupy.
Overall, dangerously good and recommended.

12oz can. Canning date stamped on bottom can lip is '07/01/22'.
Cloudy, pale gold colored body. Two fingers of white head, which reduces to thin cap and ring. Wall of lacing on non-drinking side of the glass.
Aroma of grapefruit, pineapple, and melon.
Taste is sweet grapefruit and pineapple, with some berry. Way at the end is a touch of dank pine. Much more sweet than bitter.
Fuller than medium mouth feel, with some syrup. Excellent carbonation.
Still excellent after five months in the can. Warming alcohol presence but no burn nor bite. True classic imperial IPA.

From a 12oz can:
Appearance: Cloudy yellow, big head.
Smell: Grapefruit, sweetness.
Taste: Pretty good bitterness, then moderate sweetness and citrus comes through. Fruity, relatively soft feel. Alcohol is apparent but not too strong. Moderately bitter finish.
Overall: Tried Melvin 2x4 in Omaha, but the cans were old, but the beer was still good. Picked up a fresher 4 pack in Denver, seems to be a little more on the NEIPA/sweeter side than old school bitter DIPA, but still quite tasty.

I picked this up at the local store and saw that it was canned on 8/24/2021. Today is 8/31/21! It’s only a week “old”! I chilled it down and then poured one into a Rick and Morty themed pint glass. This is a DIPA with 9.9% ABV and 100+ IBUs!
Look-It pours a light-yellow color with good clarity. The head is one finger and white with a foamy, choppy consistency. The head retention is OK and left sparse, drooping, and wet lacing on the glass.
Smell-It smells strongly of grapefruit followed by peach and pineapple in roughly equal amounts. It also has a malty aroma leaning towards honey-suckle. I also get subtle hues of yeast esters.
Taste-The taste roughly follows the nose. I get peach, pineapple, grapefruit, tangerine pith, honey-suckle, a rich malt base without being sticky or syrupy. I also get some subtle herbal notes like clove, dandelion, and white pepper. The flavor is predominantly fruity and citrusy as I described. Therefore, it is almost like a modified west coast IPA! Noticeable piney hops though well-balanced and some light floral notes as well. Mild bitterness carries through to the end. It is on the heavier side of medium-bodied which was surprising for a DIPA.
Overall-This is a very delicious brew that has a clean flavor, and its attributes shine through unambiguously. The alcohol content isn’t very noticeable so pace yourself. Enjoy!

L: Dark hazy gold
S: Complex notes of pine & citrus, it smells amazing
T: Strong hit of boozy pine resin with a hint of bitter orange peel that lingers for a very long time.
F: Dry mouthfeel, but expected at this ABV.
I like it a lot and had no idea who "Melvin Brewing" even was until today.
