Currently #3 in the top beers of Wyoming list.

CAN: 12 fl oz. Aluminum. Standard pull-tab. Green label design.

7.50% ABV.

Hop profile is fine but not impressive. Floral notes, maybe a hint of oniony hop character...no real fruit or resins or oily flavours. Pale malts keep it balanced.

Smooth, wet, a bit too medium-bodied.

Lacks hop pungency. Drinkable but underwhelming. I can't say I'm impressed with this; maybe it's the third best beer from Wyoming, but what is that really saying?

C+ (3.15) / ABOVE AVERAGE

12/30/16 2nd impressions from another can:

Clear copper body under an off-white fluffy cap. Head retention is good - ~8 minutes.

Aroma brings floral hops and pale malts, but little else...I guess really faint mango and some muted candied orange peel?Bubblegum phenol from the yeast. I'm not finding any overt citrus, oily hops, strong resins, piney hops, or "dank" cannabis-redolent notes. Aromatic intensity is average. Suggests a balanced IPA, but one which might lack depth of flavour and an interesting hop profile. I find no off-notes or booze.

TASTE & TEXTURE: Candied citrus and warm (read: boozy) tropical fruit is present - mango, orange peel, pineapple. Aside from that, hopwise it's all generic floral hop character. No overt resins, juicy citrusy fruits, oils, pine flavours, biting grapefruit, et al. A blip of oniony hop character. Pale malts and probably caramalt are in there, making this brew way too sweet for an IPA when combined with that candied fruit flavour. I can't say it's well balanced, and depth of flavour is lackluster (as are hop pungency and bite). Flavour duration is average. Flavour intensity is somewhat high.

Medium-bodied, overcarbonated, unrefreshing, slightly coarse, wet. Not oily, gushed, or astringent. Suffers from boozy warmth which is pretty intolerable when coupled with that off-putting pineapple (I happen to despise pineapple flavours in beer).

OVERALL: Booziness makes it less drinkable than most IPAs. Hop selection is poor, at least to my tastes. Those who adore warm tropical fruit will flock to this, but to drinkers like me who prefer juicy clean citrus or resinous oils or grapefruit bitterness, this will underwhelm. I wanted to love it given a trusted friend's recommendation, but it just didn't deliver for me - probably because pineapple-redolent hops aren't for me.
