Honeysuckle, lots of onion, modest pine, zesty fruit, earthy dirt and floral finish. I literally taste nearly every facet of hop descriptor in this.

Fantastic offering. Can't wait to try 2x4.

Color is deep honey in color like tree sap, head is white and rather thick, slowly fading away leaving nice lacing. Nose is the sweet smell of hops, piney. Taste is resinous and piney. The follow through takes a bit to fade, but eventually it does...unfortunately. Great beer.

Canned on 8/6/18. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours golden with nice clarity and transparency; creamy white head that falls leaving great retention and sticky lacing. The aromas have a nice blend of citrus and floral notes. Some fresh bread and crackers. Some malts. The flavors are citrus forward. Orange cream leads the way. There's a touch of sweetness to it, but nothing crazy. Moderate bitterness. Finishes juicy. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's fluffy, smooth and easy to drink.

This is a nice IPA. The citrus flavors really come through. Well done.

Burnt amber with a thick, off-white foam head, flavors of dank grapefruit, green onion, and a bit of burnt rubber are delivered via a big, frothy medium body that finishes semi-dry and quite fulfilling

This pours a gorgeous crystal clear burnt orange color with a light tan head. Wow. A little resiny pine and a heaping helping of citrus on the nose, along with a subtle malt component.

The taste is bursting with citrus, specifically tangerines (on my palate), a little pine, and a nice malt note. Full bodied with a dry finish, this is an exceptional example of the West Coast-style IPA, IMHO.

12oz canned 7/12/18 (38 days ago) poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass at fridge temp 7.5% ABV. The beer pours bright light honey in color with sticky light khaki head. The head recedes to a cap and leaves plenty of lacing. The aroma is tangerine and candied orange. The taste is more citrus (tangerine & grapefruit) with a side of mildly bitter, piney hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, sticky, adequately carbonated and mostly dry in the finish. There is some west coast shellac on the finish. Overall, very good. Nice example of a classic & well made west coast IPA.

I want to like this beer more than I do. I like the high ABV, but the taste and smell are just an average west coast IPA. That's not to say it's a bad beer, it's good. But it a higher ABV version of something you drank before. Unless you can't trust your perception, which is a strong possibility. Alex Jones just got a temp ban on Twitter, he's kicked off YouTube, Facebook, and MySpace... I don't get it. A man goes out and SPEAKS HIS TRUTH and he is silenced by BIG INTERNET--Why am I not surprised. All the chemicals in your food, in the air, and THE DIGITAL CHEMICALS BEING SENT OVER THE INTERNET are changing us, making us complacent. I just don't understand.

One sec, someone is at the door.

Pouring from a 12 oz. can into a pint glass. This beer pours out extremely clear and golden/dark straw in color. It forms a thin white crown. I am loving the clarity of these Melvin IPAs. It's nice that some people are still brewing clear IPAs with confidence. The smell is slight citrus juiciness with some sweetness when taking a deeper breath. Needs a little more. The taste brings a sharp bite to it that doesn't let me detect much else. The mouthfeel is well carbonated and sticky, how it should be. Overall, Melvin makes some solid IPAs. Definitely stuff that you can trust and use as go-to's. They might not be "the best" or knock you off your feet. But you can tell they are well crafted.

Appearance – The beer is served a hazed golden orange color with a one finger head of white foam. The head fades rather slowly over time to leave a decent sum of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is heaviest of a citrus and tropical smells. There is a decent showing of pine and some herb in the nose and with a decent sum of caramel giving an overall smell that is rather sweet and hoppy.
Taste – The taste begins with a very sweet and bready taste with the sweet being of orange, caramel, and some tropical fruits. There is a bready backbone to the brew that, with the sweet, creates a base taste. As the flavor advances from the start, some hop tastes of herb and pine as well as more citrus flavors develop. In the end the sweeter tastes seem to surge with more flavors of tropical fruits, melon, and peach. Some other tastes of pine and herb also increase toward the end, leaving one with a rather sweet and citrus hopped taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the average side in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is rather average. Overall the feel is rather appropriate for the mix of hop and sweet and makes for an easy drinking medium.
Overall – Sweeter than I was initially anticipating, but overall pretty tasty.
