On tap. Black pour, medium brown head. Roasted malts with chocolate and light sugary notes. Creamy chocolate taste, with roasted dark malts and hints of caramel. Rather creamy, near full bodied. Drinks really easy. A rather enjoyable, low alcohol stout with a good substantial feel.

I've overlooked this 600 ml bottle of Burgman Stout for almost four months now, however the best-by date isn't until August. The man on the label brings back fashion of the last century, a thick mustache, a top hat, and a black bowtie. On to the beer:

Black as ink with hues that somehow make their way into ruby red territory. The head forms an inch thick above, retainly reasonnably well and leaving a little lace on the glass. The nose is sweet, in a dark chocolate kind of way. A little roastiness is there in the background.

Medium full bodied, sweet for a stout, and a bit of a treat. What starts as a generic stout with generic semi-sweetness eventually fullfills its label as a sweet stout. Roasty-sweet in general. A little of the 7% ABV is sensed, spottable although not a deal breaker.

That's one more brewery tasted out of Brazil, and one more example of good beer that's being made in that country.

From a 600 mL bottle, thanks Jon,

A: Pours a dark sepia with a medium off-white head, with some solid lace.

S: Dutch cocoa, molasses, Mission figs.

T: Nice milk chocolate flavour, with some dark fruit. Hints of characoal and roast.

M: Medium-bodied, chalky at times.

O: A solid stout from Brazil. Really doesn't taste like anything you'd find in America, so a palate expander.
