Per Funkwerks: "Our Fort Collins Collaboration beer that we did with Horse & Dragon Brewing Company, 1933 Brewing Company, and Black Bottle Brewery!

It's a Belgian IPA!

This take on an India Pale Ale (IPA) beer style incorporates our love for Belgian style beer in a hop forward style ale to brew a hybrid style; a Belgian IPA. The grain bill for this brew was decided among the Fort Collins breweries to create collaboration brews. The brewer’s were allowed creative freedom on hops, yeast, and gravity, making each collaboration brew unique. The hops used in this brew were Bravo (provided by Horse and Dragon) for a bittering hop addition, El Dorado and Galaxy for a late hop addition, and it is finished with dry hopped Motueka. This New Zealand hop (Motueka) gives the brew subtle white wine characteristics. This delightfully well balanced Belgian IPA is crisp with hints of pineapple, grapefruit, and lemon zest, and finishes with a pleasant dryness. A refreshing and enticing beer; perfect beer to enjoy in the spring and summer months. "

Pours golden orange with a white head. Aroma is quite floral with a touch of grass, not much fruitiness from the hops at first but starts to show as it warms, a touch of fruity esters, spice, and pepper from the yeast, and a little bready from the malt. Flavor followed suit. A crisp and creamy active mouthfeel. Overall, solid beer but definitely not on par with Funkwerks best. Definitely not going to let me forget about how great their initial Belgian IPA was.
