Rooted in Belgian tradition, this refreshing wheat ale, or witbier, is our interpretation of a classic style. Its hazy pale color and creamy white head result from the ample amounts of wheat used in the recipe. The addition of raw oats contributes to a smooth mouthfeel while the Belgian yeast imparts a complex yet dry finish. Notes of orange zest and lemon with hints of spice.

L: hazy white with dense foamy head
S: citrus and grain, barely noticeable spice and little hop
T: light lemon and crackery wheat, with a slightly tart finish with faint pepper and spice.
F: creamy and full but not heavy with dry finish.
O: this style is about nuances. This offering gives you lemon tart flavor and pepper spice from yeast with a clean dry finish. If you want more yeast funk ( clove undertones), coriander spice or orange influence look elsewhere. Not bad but not great.

A: The beer is relatively clear light yellow in color and has a slight amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short white head that quickly settled down, leaving a collar around the edge of the glass and a thin film of bubbles covering the surface.
S: Light to moderate aromas of pears are present in the nose.
T: The taste has fruity flavors of pears along with underlying hints of wheat and oats. Hints of yeast also become perceptible as the beer warms up.
M: It feels a bit more than light-bodied and somewhat smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I found the use of oats in this witbier to be unique as they contributed a smooth mouthfeel unlike other beers in the style. The beer was also quite unlike other witbiers as it didn't have any clove spices and had pears in lieu of orange peel. It also didn't have any "raw" flavors of wheat.

12oz bottle. 10/9/19 BB date. Appearance: Light straw yellow, cloudy, with a pillowy white head and nice lacing.
Aroma: Light pear and apple esters, and a surprisingly dank hop resin note. No real spice pops out to the nose. Some clove
Taste: Light, wheat maltiness with orange peel, a slight bit of lemon, and strong pear esters, followed by o light bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with some creaminess, and a high carbonation.
Finish: Fairly dry finish with some lingering hop resin on the tongue and a retronasal pear fruitiness.
Overall: Really light and refreshing Belgian Wit. While I don’t really pick up on any coriander spice, this beer delivers on the fruity yeast esters, with pear most dominant. It has a surprising amount of hop character in the aroma and finish, but it balance the fruity sweetness of the beer. Beautiful appearance and mouthfeel
