750 ml bottle, bottled on 11/6/2013. Pours slightly hazy straw gold with a huge fluffy white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is tropical fruits and some dry vinous grape with some earthy yeast and perfumey malt.
The flavor is bready malts with tropical fruits, a little spicy funk and some grape. The finish has a decent amount of dry bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with slightly sharp carbonation.
Overall, a very nice beer. I like tropical fruit from the nelson sauvin hops and what the grape must adds.

Strong white wine aroma, with melon, berry, pepper, fruity esters and a slight mustiness. Taste is similar, and mostly reminds me of a musty, yeasty glass of wine. Strong melon flavor. While it has a good mouthfeel and dry finish, the wine characteristics prevent it from having a clean finish. That's my only complaint for this unique, delicious Saison.

L: hazy straw filled with streams of rapidly rising bubbles under a 2" finely beaded white foam blanket with good retention
S: hops dominate the aroma with white wine, grapes, berry, fruit and light grains
T: A big prickle starts the flavors with grape, white wine, pear, fruit some grain and a trace of tart. The bitterness is moderate.
F: light and highly carbonated
O: very elegant beer, wine-like and refreshing

Poured a cloudy, very pale straw colored body with a one finger fluffy white head. The cloudiness was due to yeast stirring in the keg so it's not fair to rate that aspect, but the head is nicely formed and overall it looks pleasing. Scents of citrus, especially lemon peel and juice, white pepper, light sulphur and yeasty aromas, a bit musky and some medium-light sour funk. Overall impression of aroma is of an amazing saison aroma, very true to the core form of the style. A bit yeasty due to being the first pour, but not bad, the core aroma shines through regardless. Flavor begins like a classic saison with notes of lemon zest, sour funk, clove and white pepper. Middle continues this flavor, with a pleasant sourness, lemon zest, light lemon flesh and white pepper flavor. Finish is medium-dry with notes of spicy Belgian yeast, white pepper, lemon zest and light lemon juice with a bit of sour yeasty funk. Aftertaste is funky yeast, light grainy malt, white pepper and lemon zest. Overall impression of flavor is of a lovely saison, very true to form and quite pleasant. A joy to taste. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with high carbonation and an initially creamy feel that gives way to a drying finish. Overall impression of mouthfeel is of an excellent saison, a bit full but very pleasing on the tongue. Overall this is a fantastic saison. The slightly off aroma gave way to a wonderful flavor and mouthfeel that was well worth trying. Another hit from Funkwerks.

Bottled on 11/13/14 Picked this up in CO Springs ( Coal Train )
Pours a super effervescent straw color with a finger of bubbly eggshell colored head. Stays effervescent throughout, reminds one of sparkling wine. Very good head retention & pretty good lacing
S: Pineapple, a whisper of funk, pears, apple blossoms
T: Follows the nose, some light crackery notes, plus dryness & a kiss of tartness, delicate grapefruit notes as well up front.. Some pineapple as this warms, a hint of melon & pears, just a touch of oaky twangyness/brett sourness as well. Finishes with mix of orchard & tropical fruit, slight hints of oakyness
MF: Extremely light bodied, delicate carbonation
Drinks so easy, maybe not quite funky enough to completely thrill, but would certainly buy it again; no doubt. These guys do good work!

Love Nelson hops, so you know I'm down for this. Interesting choice to add Muscat grape juice to the wort. I get some melon in the nose, some white wine-like notes, and a definite touch of spicy yeast. It's a little sweet smelling, a little heavy on the wine notes, but it definitely works. Palate amplifies the wine-like effect with a rather juicy/wet body. Personally, I'd prefer it to dry out a touch, to give it some lift, but it's not unappealing. Little hints of pils malt sneak through, though again I'd prefer them to come out a bit more. No real Nelson "funk" you sometimes get with that hop. Interesting, refreshing. Dry this sucker out a bit and, personally, I think it'd really sing.

Mildly hazy light yellow pour on draft. Pillow white head decreases to film. Very Belgian nose. Subdued hops with that fine soap smell. Taste is joyous, and I'd swear this came from Belgium. Major lacing. Moderate body and carbonation. Need to get some bottles.
