I found myself obliged to review this location after spending quite enough time there for a friend's bachelor party. The tap list caught me off guard as the good food and fantastic service we received.

Attached to The Cove complex in downtown Lake Geneva, Houlihan's has a fairly average atmosphere. Dark wood adorns pretty much everything. The walls are covered in memorabilia and "stuff" much like an Applebee's or TGI Friday's.

Of the top of my head they had a decent selection of tap beers including Magic Hat #9, Spotted Cow, Sprecher Special Amber, Samuel Adams, Three Floyds Gumballhead (and another seasonal) and quite a few more offerings spread out through the four tap stations around the square bar.

Seating flanked the bar area and a large, open restaurant area held quite a number of people. Not only were most of the bar tenders that night pretty cute (they were women...dur) but they were very helpful when it came to the Bachelor Party game we played which was basically The Great Race but with local bars. We had clues to find out which bar we had to go to and clues to a shot we had to take. They were instrumental for our team's win.

Oh, and on top of that, our waitress looked identical to the chick from Dexter. She was nice and put up with a lot from all the drunk guys ordering beers and food.

The food was good enough that I ended up going back the next weekend for lunch before the Beer & Spirits Fest in Lake Geneva. The first go-around I shared some delicious nachos and stuffed mushrooms, deep-fried to perfection (although a little TOO full of cream cheese). The second time around I enjoyed the mushrooms again, removing a portion of the filling, and a trio of mini burgers and fries (shared of course).

For downtown Lake Geneva, the price was quite reasonable. I'd go back again, because with the expansive amount of bars in the area we visited that night, this place had the best beer selection by far.
