A: Dense black that fades to dark red at the corners, khaki head that falls back to a ring

S: Fudgy chocolate, a little booze, and as it warms more herbal citrus

T: Smooth dark chocolate, sweet malt, then it moves to a nice citrus bitterness, finishes with aromatic roasted grains

M: Heavy imp stout feel, silky, smooth, and finishes a little syrupy. The sticky aromatic aftertaste lingers nicely.

O: I love this beer, one of my favorite stouts of all time. I grabbed a bottle every chance I got but was lucky enough to get it on draft for this review. If you like imperial stouts this is a must try. I know it's an anniversary edition release but I really hope Westbrook makes more.

The beer comes in a black color.

The aroma literally smells like a chocolate orange. The orange is this floral orange instead of this aggressive citrus. Some coffee and roasted malt.

The flavor follows with that orange chocolate, cocoa chocolate, a slight booze and then tons of coffee bitterness on the end with some woodiness. It's almost a floral orange note. A bit of drying on the end.

This is a surprise and the orange is so fun in this.

Appearance: deep dark brown, almost black, and opaque. Thick deep tan, nearly brown head on the pour that mostly recedes. Thick, almost syrupy lacing that quickly recedes. Handsome brew.
Smell: not getting orange in the nose. Cocoa and vanilla are prominent. A hint of spice.
Taste: full imp stout with all the flavors in the nose. Just a hint of orange and don't think I'd pick that up unless I was trying to find it. No matter, this is delicious.

Tap at Grapevine. Sturdy black pour, finger of light brown head. Laces the glass quite well.

Aroma, roast malt, dark chocolate cocoa. Just a hint of orange zest.

Taste, nicely roast malt, dry cocoa are big. Orange creme sickle is prominent, but melds very well. Finishes quite dry, coffee and cocoa.

Solidly medium to full body. Not quite creamy carb. Coats well. Little to no abv presence. Orange in a big roasty; dry chocolatey stout.
Excellent 3rd anniversary brew, only bested by the Mexican Cake thus far for me.

A: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a jet black color and a thick texture. There was a small amount of creamy, tan-colored, fairly long-lasting head. No real lacing to speak of.

S: A nice, typically stout-like aroma of coffee, chocolate, and malt. Didn't really get much of the advertised orange, but this wasn't an issue.

T: Tasted of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee (not a huge amount, but present), a little caramel, and the orange in the finish. A decidedly well-balanced flavor. The orange adds a new, welcome dimension without being overbearing.

M: A fair amount of carbonation with a super-smooth finish. Full-bodied.

O: A well made, interesting stout. Very tasty, very drinkable.
