Poured from a bomber into a tulip glass.

Pours a pale, cloudy, straw color with a very thick, long lasting white head. Smell is very sweet and fruity, almost citrus like. Taste is very light, dry with slight sweetness with a slight alcoholic taste. Slight bitterness that fades to a dry fruity crisp finish. Mouthfeel is quite thin with not to it. Overall this is an interesting beer, worth picking up if you can find it or if you are a follower of Westbrook.

Received as an extra, poured into a tulip.

A - Poured a very nice crystal clear light golden hue with a nice half finger head that fades to leave a light blanket and light lacing.

S - Aromas of charcoal, light funk, maybe some banana...this is a tripel?!

T - Taste is slightly better, charcoal, wood, oak, light fruit, bread, biscuits, light German malts, faint bitter hops. There's a bitter finish but it sure isn't citra!

M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated crisp.

O - Overall this beer was a train wreck. Just a mess, argh.

I'm very surprised to see comments in reviews like "slight bitter hops". Peoples' palates must be wrecked from all the DIPAs. This couldn't be any further away from what a TRIPEL suppose to smell and taste like. Way too many and mostly nothing but hops present. This is a Belgian Strong Pale Ale. I love Westbrook, but this is the worst beer from them IMO. I love tripels btw (ex. look at the top 15 highest rated/most popular). This should've been named Belgique Magee, then it would've been a solid brew.
