Bottled 11/4/13, opened 5/18/15. Really nice tartness, but well balanced. Mouthfeel almost perfect. Mine had very little head at all, not sure why. Really enjoyable flanders. So glad I was able to wait this long to open it. I wish I had purchased 2 or 3 when I had the chance.

Bottled 11/4/13 enjoyed 5/10/15

Appearance: Opaque red-brown, thin persistent beige cap.

Aroma: Medium intensity sour cherry and oak.

Flavor: Medium plus acidity, nice sherry-esque oxidation. Stone fruit.

Mouthfeel: medium+ carbonation, touch of residual sugar, still refreshing.

look: 4 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.5

Appearance: Pours a tawny color with a modest head that lingers for a while and leaves a few strands behind

Smell: Fruity tones of cherry, strawberry and raspberry with hints of oak and tartness

Taste: Cherry and berry fruit tones open the profile, bringing both sweetness as well as tartness; some oak develops, in the middle, and balances the flavors through the finish

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate carbonation; somewhat puckery

Overall: A really nice Flanders from the folks in Charleston; hope this makes a return at some point as I hate to say Goodbye, Mr. Chipper

Not very familiar with Flanders Red style so take w a grain of salt.
Bottled on 11/04/13 and poured into a tulip glass. Pours brown to me(I'm color blind) simply. Good head, dissipating fast. Decent lacing and good retention.
S: this is where my virginity comes into play. This beer stinks like no other beer I've had. Vegetables and woody and nutty. If i were blindfolded I probably wouldn't drink it though.
T: Slightly tart, perfect amount of carbonation, wine barrel aging comes through just enough to leave you wanting that next sip.
F: Carbonation makes it feel light on tongue as it dances around. Finishes clean while lingering pleasantly.
O: Good intro to the style I think. I was expecting more or a sour tart beer. Nose threw me off but I enjoyed it.
