22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 9/30/2015. Bit of a light gusher. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy medium golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger foamy and fluffy white head with solid retention, that reduces to a spotty lace cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big sour/tart/tangy lemon, lime, citrus peel/zest, orange, peach, pear, melon, apricot, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, and grass; with lighter notes of peppercorn, vanilla, coconut, wheat, cracker, white bread, lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of lemons, fruity/acidic yeast; and light-moderate coconut, vanilla, pale/wheat malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big sour/tart/tangy lemon, lime, citrus peel/zest, orange, peach, pear, melon, apricot, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, and grass; with lighter notes of peppercorn, vanilla, coconut, wheat, cracker, white bread, lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and light spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy lemon, lime, citrus peel/zest, orange, peach, pear, melon, apricot, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass; light peppercorn, vanilla, coconut, wheat, cracker, white bread, lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of lemons, fruity/acidic yeast; and light-moderate coconut, vanilla, pale/wheat malt flavors; with a great malt/tartness and tangy fruit balance; with no puckering flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Moderate increasing dryness from lingering tartness, fruit tang, and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and light body; with a very smooth and moderately grainy/acidic/tangy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4%. Overall this is an excellent fruited Berliner weisse. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of lemons, fruity/acidic yeast; and light-moderate coconut, vanilla, pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the modestly acidic/tangy/drying finish; not overly lactic. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Great balance of vibrant lemons and Lacto complexity; with solid vanilla and pale/wheat malts against acidity. Zero residual sweetness with crisp drying. A very enjoyable offering. Coconut is barely noticeable, but spot on style example otherwise. Held up really well considering the age.

Bottle dated 9/30/15 - just short of 2yrs old
It's been sitting in my beer fridge since early November '15, so I figured it was about damn time! Never had this before but I'm pretty sure a couple years in the bottle changed this thing a bit. Not any distinct coconut flavor but the lemon really shines here. Way more tart than most/all Berliner I've had in the past. Perfect sour pop. It's strange, but this is almost vinous. Cracked this to kick off my official work weekend. Time to play some tunes and relax.

Poured from a bottle dates 9/30/15

A: Hazy yellow. First pour has a tremendous amount of head. Quickly subsides to a thin layer of foam. Little if any lacing.
S: Tart lemon funk and slight hint of sweetness
T: This is tart. Lemon and lime and enough funk to impress Bootsy Collins. Got some coconut in the beginning but it went away is it warmed.
MF: Puckeringly tart. Clean.
O: I was expecting something Pine Colada ish but the coconut and sweetness wasn't there. Nonetheless it is a great lemon Berliner.

Pours a hazy faded orange color with a quickly dissipating lace. A discernible aroma does not jump out at you until about halfway, which is when I detect the lemon tartness and slight barnyard funk. The taste is lemony and tart. The finish is very dry and puckering. The body is light, delightfully crisp and refreshing. Low in alcohol and very drinkable. A nice weissbier.

Westbrook Lemon Coconut Weisse Weisse Baby
22oz bottle into a Teku
Bottled on: 2/4/16

A: Murky, opaque, 2plus fingers width of white colored head dissipates at a moderate rate and leaves essentially no lacing. 3.25

S: Tons of lemon, very tart, some vanilla sweetness. 4.25

T: Tart but not as sour of the aroma, lots of wheat characters especially on the finish, fair amount of sweetness particularly vanilla, I don’t really get any coconut. Tartness grows throughout the drink. My girlfriend says it takes like Jelly Belly popcorn jelly beans and she’s kind of right, especially on the finish. I love the flavor up front, but don’t love the finish. 4.25

M/D: Medium bodied, carbonation high but appropriate, drying on the finish, drinkability is good. 4.25

O: Good Berliner, interesting addition with the vanilla. An enjoyable and unique offering. 4.

L: Poured from a bottle to a weizen glass. Had a dirty brown color and a thick, murky consistency. There was a big, foamy, long-lasting head. Average lacing.

S: A solid aroma of coconut, malt, wheat, and lemon.

T: Tasted of your typical Berliner Weisse elements: malt, wheat, salt, and coriander. Also had the welcome addition of lemon, coconut, and vanilla. Sweeter than most beers of the style, but more dynamic and tastier.

F: A highly carbonated beer with a vibrant finish. Light-bodied.

O: This is a very enjoyable, lightweight beer that would be perfect for the summertime months. Sweet and surprisingly complex.

22oz bottle from Bullocks (Woodstock, GA). 6.49. Bottled 9/30/15. Served in Wicked Weed snifter.

Pours a pale but glistening gold with a finger and a half cap of white head. A thin veneer persists, along with a full halo that fails to deposit any lacing.

Aromas of tart lemon curd, hay and vague muffins. Not much there but it smells like tart lemons for sure.

The flavor is somehow plenty puckering without being necessarily sour. Lemon, funky hay, meringue, vague spice, faint cakey malt and a barely perceptible hint of coconut. Comes across as a lemon weisse.

Light, crisp feel with zesty carbonation. Lemon meringue and wheat bread in the aftertaste.

Lemon Coconut Weisse Weisse Baby is far from the tropical explosion I'd hoped for. Any coconut and vanilla are virtually irrelevant in the execution. That said, this is still a decent lemon weisse.

Interesting - comes across very much as lemon meringue pie. But there is an artificiality to the aroma and flavors that I can't get past. Reminds me very much of the Florida novelty flavored beers. I expected something tropical initially, refreshing, but this, even with the low ABV and lightness, comes across as somewhat dessert like.

Appearance: Arrives with a hazy goldenstraw color; the head fritters away quickly with only a few dots of lace

Smell: Wheat bread, sweet and tart lemon; hints of vanilla and coconut

Taste: Pungent lemon, with vanilla, coconut and wheat bread tones; through the finish, the tartness builds

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: A really nice Berliner with an intriguing twist

Thanks to rudzud

Light fizzy head disappears quickly, clear lemony yellow color.

Nose is like lemonade, big fresh lemons and sweet malts, some creamy wheat and little vanilla, generic citrus zest, tartness.

Taste is great, tons of lemon, lemon meringue, vanilla cream, lemon zest and tart, mild coconut in the background like coconut cream, light toasty creamy wheat, juicy lemonade. Finish flemmy tart, lemon all over, little vanilla cream, touch wheat.

Mouth is med bod, nice carb, little flemmy tart.

Overall awesome,, great lemon meringue pie with vanilla cream, but coconut is a little lacking.

A - Pours a straw colored body with a fizzy one finger eggshell colored head. The head disappears quickly with no retention to it.

S - Notes of lemon and wheat grain. I'm not getting any vanilla or coconut.

T - Big, bold lemon notes. Nice grainy element midway through. Light vanilla sweetness on the ending. The lemon really hits the back of the throat for a nice puckering tartness.

F - Light bodied and high carbonation. Has a dry finish.

O - Really tasty beer here. There is a lack of coconut, but the lemon and vanilla with the berliner base goes really great together.

Received lb a trade, shared with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice crystal clear golden hue with a thin head that fades quickly to leave thin wisps.

S - Aromas of lemonade, lemon meringue pie.Not much coconut at all, nice wheat notes. Just explodes with lemons.

T - Taste is super lemon. Really tastes like lemon meringue pie, nice vanilla. Little toasty wheat, nicely creamy. The coconut is really in the background very creamy like coconut milk. Delicious.

M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated with a wheat creaminess.

O - Overall this beer was really tasty, only knock would be the somewhat lack of coconut. Still, very tasty beer.

Lemonade goodness. Not getting much in the way of coconut. Great initial bright lemon tartness, that fades into a light, wheat malt finish. Refreshing and delicious.

L- Fairly pedestrian. Virtually no head. Small tiny bubbles of carbonation.
S-Bright lemon tartness with a vanilla earthy undertone. Kinda reminds me of Thai coconut soup.
T-Lemon tartness is offset by a vanilla cream cookie sweetness. The sourness powers through the back end, but that sweetness on the front makes this extremely drinkable. Would definitely be a great beer on a hot summer day. Makes you wonder why this was not released 3 months ago.
F-Tart dry finish. Adequately carbonated.
O-They definitely nailed the flavors, and they work together surprisingly well. Another nice sour by Westbrook.

Look - Pours a fizzy yellow color, looks kinda like Bud Lite

Smell - Definitely doesn't smell like Bud Lite... Smells strongly of lemon, as well as yeast. Funky and organic.

Taste - A very sour beer, the most dominant taste is lemon, but I taste yeast and lemon as well with an aftertaste of almonds.

Feel - Light and bubbly and goes down very smooth.

Overall - Interesting concept... not sure how much the almond/coconut/vanilla bean added to the overall flavor, but I enjoyed this none the less.

The beer tastes of Altoids Sour candies, a bit of coconut, lemon fruit, a bit of lactic sour, a dry finish. A really delectable light crackery malted sour.
