22oz bottle into a Teku
Bottled on: 11/30/15

A: Slightly hazy, golden yellow, 1 finger of bright white head dissipates pretty quickly and leaves essentially no lacing. 3.75

S: Tons of lemon, mixed with a big bourbony character; smells what a whiskey sour SHOULD smell like. 3.75

T: Interesting. Huge whisky notes, and huge lemon. Some wheat characters. It definitely does taste like a whiskey sour. That being said, I don’t think I love beers that taste like whiskey sours. 3.75

M/D: Medium body, carbonation appropriately high, drinkability is average. 3.75

O: Interesting and very unique beer. Can’t say I love it, but I do think they did a remarkable job of pulling off a “Whiskey Sour beer”. 3.75

On tap at CBC 2016 - day 2. Loved this beer. Sour, with notes of whiskey, unripe fruit, caramel and vanilla. The sour and acidic notes of this beer complement the whiskey barrel beautifully.

650 mL bottle. Clear golden. Smells of lemons and whiskey mixed together nicely. Smells like sour mix, kinda. Intense lemon sourness. Less whiskey. More lemon. Lemon makes up 90% of the flavor. Just a bit of oak in the back end. Maybe some whiskey. Light. Pretty sour. Intresting, but not sure how much I really like it.

Excellent balance of everything and tastes very much like a whiskey sour. Enough pucker on the front and back end, lemon throughout and near dominant with the perfect barrel aged attributes. Westbrook hit this one spot on and delivered a very unique and worthy Berliner variant!

Pours a dark yellow or gold color, looks like a jar of honey. Pretty much no head, no lacing either.

Smell - Whiskey, lemon, grapefruit. Light funky yeast.

Taste - Quite the nice balance between these seemingly contradicting flavors. The whiskey taste hits up front, transitioning into the tart citrus flavor (the most prominent of the flavors). Slight salt on the aftertaste.

Feel - Very easy to drink, I went through my glass quickly and without effort. Moderate carbonation and is very smooth.

Overall - Fun variation on Westbrook's standard Berliner Weiss!

L - Pours a cloudy brownish orange body with a paper white one finger head.

S - Whiskey sour, definitely. The base beer aged in bourbon barrels with lemons added makes it seem like a like a whiskey sour.

T - The berliner & lemon pop together in harmony upfront. Bourbon is secondary and really compliment it all.

F - Light bodied and medium carbonation. Dry finish.

O - This is super tasty! So refreshing.

L: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a dark, golden yellow color and clear texture. There was a small amount of foamy head that quickly dissipated. Not much lacing to speak of.

S: A nice, understated aroma of lemon, bourbon, and a slight sugary quality.

T: Tasted of a lot of lemon (and a some other citrus fruits as well), a slightly sour quality, some sugar notes, light malt notes, and a nice tinge of bourbon, particularly in the finish. An interesting take on the Berliner Weisse style that's incredibly sweet, light and tasty. The bourbon adds a surprising amount of complexity to the flavor.

F: A fair amount of carbonation with an extremely lively finish. Light-bodied.

O: One of the more interesting beers of this style that I've tried. Well made and easy to drink.
