Tan head, but thin. Dark brown, black color.

Nose has cinnamon showing the most. Then the habeneros show. Has a nice dose of vanilla. Awesome bourbon notes.

Taste follows up but the peppers show more. The cinnamon is pronounced. Some sweetness from the maple and vanilla. Cocoa. Complex. Has a cola flavor/dr pepper flavor which makes sense.

Only flaw is that it could be a bit thicker. Smooth and warming. Great barrel presence. The vanilla shows in the finish.

Really fun to try this one. The heat builds up.

Deep brown to black with about a fingers worth of brown tinted head that settled quickly to nearly nothing.

Nose is a mix of maple, bourbon, vanilla, minor spice, minor oak, and minor smoke as it warms.

Taste is very much pappy - caramel and vanilla mix with maple bourbon, chocolate (stronger when cold), cinnamon and hot peppers, minor oak, and a minor bit of coffee.

Mouthful is heavy but exceptionally smooth and silky. Carbonation is average. Finish is warming and semi sweet.

It's hard to find any negatives with this beer outside of the ridiculous price . The pappy barrel and length of barrel aging really do this beer so much justice. In similar stouts, the oak gets thrust on top and overtakes most of the flavors. In this instance, it's quite the opposite with the bourbon shining and being complimented by that maple and vanilla. It results in such a nice sipper that isn't really boozy (yeah you could slug this) with a profile that changes from cold (more chocolate) to warm (more vanilla). Very much recommended to share with a couple friends considering the price.

All aspects of cake amplified x10 plus, bourbon, plus maple. Spiciness was perfect on this one to match the flavors. Classic cake look. Smell of hot cinnamon, bourbon goodness. Taste was cinnamon toast crunch soaked in bourbon with huge heat. Feel for such a big beer was amazingly smooth. Overall the bartender said this beer would put a smile on my face and she sure was correct!
