Appearance - The beer poured black as night with light mocha colored bubbles.

Smell - There was not a real strong nose on this one. Chocolate was the most obvious note.

Taste - Milk chocolate really comes to the front. This is like Mexican Cake’s profile without any spice. The promised salt seems overwhelmed by the chocolate. Bitter dark chocolates come more toward the back.

Mouthfeel - Westbrook’s stouts are full bodied, with many almost seeming fluffy.

Overall - 7th anniversary? This should become an annual beer.

look: Pitch dark brown...Thick mocha head on the pour that mostly recedes. Thick oily lacing that quickly recedes.
smell: As advertised. Strong chocolate, subtle sea salt.
taste: Much like the nose. Not a complex brew but it is as advertised, chocolate and sea salt. Nice creamy dessert brew.

Super dark brown beer with a brown head that leaves a few random specks of lacing. The nose is filled with roasted malts, chocolate and coffee. The taste is very roasty with a lot of chocolate and a nice salty finish. Nice dark chocolate flavor and ending bitterness. This is a pretty great beer.

Dark brown color with brown head. Aroma has sweet and salty chocolate notes, cacao, rum, a bit spicy and vegetal. Taste starts with sweet cacao, a bit salty, finishes with some roasty bittersweet notes. Medium plus body, smooth mouthfeel, medium minus carbonation.

Shoe polish black with a very minimal light tan ring, this starts with bitter cocoa that, through a bubbly froth, becomes rich with salted caramel and a hint of marshmallow, finishing dry to semi-dry.

Poured from fridge temp and allowed to warm over 30 min or so. Pours motor oil black with a really nice, relatively thin, layer of light brown head. Nose is chocolate, lactose, caramel, a bit of molasses, and vanilla. The nose reminds me of Noa from Omnipollo. Really amazing. Taste is incredible. Diverges a bit from the nose by the presence of a slight bitterness on first sip. Lots of milk chocolate, vanilla ice cream, slight licorice, bitter roasted malts (with a slight burnt touch), and some coffee. A tiny bit of salt comes through, which is fantastic. Goes really nice with the subtle caramel notes. This is a phenomenal beer, and I'm really happy to try it. Mouthfeel is super thick and creamy, and the alcohol is well hidden. Overall, fantastic stuff. Cheers!

650 mL bottle. Black. Smells like a Tootsie Roll. Like exactly like. Tootsie Roll. Tastes like a Tootsie Roll too. Sweet fudge and milk chocolate. Slightly roasty and bitter back end. Medium heavy. Almost too sweet, but good in small quantities.
