A 22 fl. oz. bomber, bottled on 27th November 2017. Poured into a snifter glass.

Appearance: Dark dark brown to black in colour with a very thin brown head that dissipated quickly while leaving some spotty lacing.

Aroma: Roasty, chocolate, cocoa, dark fruit, prunes, vanilla, cream.

Taste: Light roast, moderately sweet, chocolate, cocoa, prunes, dates, with vanilla and caramel notes.

Mouthfeel: Creamy, full bodied with soft carbonation.

Overall: A nice sipper although the prune and dates flavours were a little sweet and syrupy for me.

Just last month i had their 8th Anniversary stout and realized that I had the 4th, 5th, and 6th editions, but missed the 7th... Well, fixing that right now, as one of my local shops still had some on hand... 12/6/17 bottling date...

Black pour and black-bodied, with a few fingers of dark foam on top... Packs a big chocolate syrup and marshmallow punch - the salt just makes it taste sweeter and fudgier... Additional notes of molasses and vanilla make this a sweet stout with little to no bitterness... Full-bodied and soft, smooth and plush... A real liquid chocolate treat...

As with the others in the series, I have been consistently pleased...

Received in a trade and shared with JLindros who apparently already had this.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice dark brown almost black with a thin mocha head that fades to leave nice blanket and creamy lacing.

S - Big aromas of chocolate fudge, little caramel, light sea salt. Like standing over a bowl of brownie batter.

T - Taste is similar to the nose with loads of fudgy brownie batter. Rich dark chocolate fudge and chocolate cake batter. Little bit of sea salt and flash of caramel. Just crazy fudge brownie.

M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, creamy, thick and luscious. Alcohol hidden really greatly.

O - Overall this was a very solid stout with excellent fudgy chocolate brownie notes. Super chocolate!

Had it on tap somewhere in NC. It was exceptional! 5 star beer and much better than 6th anniversary.

One of the 14 beers we have had in one session of some bad-ass tasting brew.
Gourmet beer but nothing overly sweet. The chocolate is nice and followed by a caramel character

Appearance: Arrives almost pitch black, with a one finger head that leaves a fair amount of lace behind

Smell: Quite fudgy, with some caramel, marshmallow, vanilla, and dark fruit

Taste: Fudge forward, with caramel and marshmallow cream; some dark fruit emerges, in the middle, with a hint of sea salt in the finish; overall, rather sweet

Mouthfeel: Full bodied with low to moderate carbonation

Overall: Nice chocolate tones but overall, just a bit too sweet

Appearance - The beer poured black as night with light mocha colored bubbles.

Smell - There was not a real strong nose on this one. Chocolate was the most obvious note.

Taste - Milk chocolate really comes to the front. This is like Mexican Cake’s profile without any spice. The promised salt seems overwhelmed by the chocolate. Bitter dark chocolates come more toward the back.

Mouthfeel - Westbrook’s stouts are full bodied, with many almost seeming fluffy.

Overall - 7th anniversary? This should become an annual beer.

look: Pitch dark brown...Thick mocha head on the pour that mostly recedes. Thick oily lacing that quickly recedes.
smell: As advertised. Strong chocolate, subtle sea salt.
taste: Much like the nose. Not a complex brew but it is as advertised, chocolate and sea salt. Nice creamy dessert brew.

Super dark brown beer with a brown head that leaves a few random specks of lacing. The nose is filled with roasted malts, chocolate and coffee. The taste is very roasty with a lot of chocolate and a nice salty finish. Nice dark chocolate flavor and ending bitterness. This is a pretty great beer.

Dark brown color with brown head. Aroma has sweet and salty chocolate notes, cacao, rum, a bit spicy and vegetal. Taste starts with sweet cacao, a bit salty, finishes with some roasty bittersweet notes. Medium plus body, smooth mouthfeel, medium minus carbonation.

Shoe polish black with a very minimal light tan ring, this starts with bitter cocoa that, through a bubbly froth, becomes rich with salted caramel and a hint of marshmallow, finishing dry to semi-dry.
