A tart raspberry lassi-inspired ale with copious amounts of red raspberry puree and rounded out with milk sugar and vanilla beans.

Canned 09/04/19.

Hazy ruby red pour. Soft white head that leaves good lacing around the glass.

Clean, fresh, raspberry nose. Fruity, but fairly mild with only subtle undertones of vanilla.

More of the same as on the nose. Loads of raspberry and vanilla, with the milk sugar lending a soft, smooth feel. Beyond that this one is fairly straightforward, however I enjoyed it more than the last Lassi offering from these guys.

Westbrook is becoming one of my favorite breweries from across the country. They bring it again with the lassi inspired sour. The beer really pays tribute, highlighting the guava and vanilla. It all blends into a smooth, tropical sour.

Poured into a tulip at ~50-55 degrees. Pours a dirty cranberry red with an inch and a half of fizzy pink head that quickly dissipates. Smell is heavy on the raspberry with hints of something I can't put my finger on lurking underneath. Taste, while clearly reflective of the raspberry used in it's creation, is more subtle than I expected. This is smooth and easy drinking with little carbonation and just a tiny bit of funk aftertaste.

Presentation: 16 oz. can with the canning date printed on the bottom. Served in a Munique glass.

Appearance: The one and a half finger, light pink head stays around for a bit and leaves behind a thin form layer and some fine lacing they covers the entire glass.

Smell: It's a fresh, fruity, sweet scent of raspberry jam. There's also a hint of herbal mint in the background.

Taste: It's tart with a big, fruity raspberry flavor. That's balanced out by a candy-like refined sugar sweetness and some vanilla extract.

Mouthfeel: It's medium bodied and quite fizzy with medium high carbonation. It's starts getting cloying after a while because of the sugary sweetness and fruitiness.

Overall: An excellent beer that's easy to drink with an enjoyable and well rounded flavor profile. There's a lot of tartness but it never gets out of hand.

Cloudy, gray-hued raspberry color with two-plus fingers of light pink head. Solid retention and wavy lacing.

Creamy raspberry aroma with some light cracker malt behind.

Big raspberry and vanilla in the taste, with maybe a hint of sweet spices (cardamom, cinnamon), light white toast and a moderately tart, fruity finish.

Relatively full bodied and creamy with lively carbonation.

A nicely done creamed raspberry kettle sour.

This one is a winner. This is the 2/4/20 batch but it tastes exactly like last years batch. The amount of lactose gives a perfect creamy mouthfeel and the vanilla and lactose play amazingly with the sourness of the raspberries. I bought a case of this last year and may end up buying a case pf the new batch I just wish the ABV was slightly higher but other than that it is an exceptional beer by every metric.

Canned 2/4/20, received from Mbgreg in the Rookie BIF.

Pours a murky red, very thick with about two fingers of pink foamy head. I poured it hard to see what type of head it'd leave. Mild, fruity smell. It's definitely raspberry, but not hitting me over the head with it. Taste is also pretty straight forward raspberry, but that's not a bad thing. I couldn't taste the vanilla until it started to warm up, and even then it was subtle, which I think worked well for the beer. Drinks smooth. Overall a very nice fruity beer.

Almost murky purple in color. Tart with a vanilla background. A lot of these brewers are toying with raspberries right now and Westbrook comes in solid AF. One of my favorite sour fall beers!
