22oz bottle, filled 11/6/12. The beer world equivalent of the "diss track", this was brewed in collaboration with Evil Twin and CBX, as a response to a RB user (and, as the CBX guys later learned, Evil Twin brewer) knocking CBX for "wrongfully" filling 22oz bottles. "Any store or bar or whatever who wants to do this is of course at risk of getting in trouble but for most they feel the reward out weighs the risk."

Pours a dark, ominous black with a dense mocha head that fades to a thin ring and star-shaped haze (seriously - it looks cool). Big roasty aromas of dark malt, Beechwood smoke, dark chocolate, and a touch of ashed-over wood. Loving the smoke, especially on these cooler nights. Taste is similarly dark and roasty, with more dark malt, chocolate, oaky smoke, a touch of molasses, and more ash. Finish is very bitter, like accidentally biting into the baking chocolate in your cabinets instead of the regular stuff. Mouthfeel is big and full, with a creamy mouthfeel and mild carbonation. Overall an intense experience of a beer, but damn if it isn't tasty. I always love Westbrooks smoked stuff, lets hoping more comes down the pipeline.

Westbrook/Evil Twin Minigrowler Imperial Stout
growler into a snifter

Not much information on this one. Only know that its a collaboration with Evil Twin, and has a 12% ABV.

A: Pours a completely opaque jet black with just a film of dark mocha colored head. Head dissipates away very quickly. Leaves only the slightest faint patches of lacing.

S: Huge roasted notes, leather, tobacco, smoke. Smells like a cigar lounge. I really dig it.

T: Follows the nose with roasted malts and leather being front and center. I also get black coffee, some sweetness, dark chocolate, tobacco, and a hint of vanilla.

M/D: Carbonation is appropriate, on the slightly higher end of the spectrum for the style, which makes it not particularly smooth. Full bodied, but not quite thick or chewy. ABV is incredibly well masked, and drinkability is fairly high.

O: Overall, quite enjoyable, but different. It has the biggest leather and tobacco notes Ive ever had in a beer. Strong, heavy, and bold in both aroma and flavor. If I had to sum this beer up in one word, it would be "manly". If the Dos Equis guy were real, this is what he'd actually drink. This is a beer that I think caters to a certain demographic, and those who like the leather/tobacco/smokey flavors will absolutely love this one. Personally, I prefer some sweetness or bourbon flavors in my stouts, however, this was still very good for a change of pace. Certainly worth a try for those who can get a hold of it.
