BEER INFO

Brewed by:
Westbrook Brewing Co.

Style: American Double / Imperial Stout

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 10.00%

Availability: Limited (brewed once)

Notes / Commercial Description:
For our Second Anniversary beer, we tapped into the legendary fictional adventures of the mythical Cap'n Skoon to bring you this monster Baltic Stout. It's big and roasty like an imperial stout but fermented with a German lager yeast. Ideal for sipping now, or be like the Cap'n and stash some away in your cargo hold for the years to come. Cheers!

A: Poured jet black with pretty good thickness and concsistency. A nice tan cap sits atop after it settles. Head rentention was pretty good and the lacing was spotty

S: A nice charred nose with plenty of milk chocolate and bakers cocoa. A wee bit of coffee is picked up as well

T: Tasted of milk chocolate with some bakers powder cocoa peeping in and out, roasted malt base, a little hop bittering, light pine waaay in the background with a nice char and bittering on the finish. Speaking of finish, chocolate, moderate sweetness, sordove dry

M: Wee lcarbonated, fuller bodied, robust, hearty and everything you wold want from the style

O: A pretty good RIS and my first Westbrook brew.

Poured from a bottle gifted from Chris @ Peabody's in Boone, NC... into an Olde Hickory snifter.

Very solid brew, great look... black body and slight mocha head that fades quickly, sexy brown lacing. Roasty nose, slightly boozy... chocolate malty goodness with a peppery finish.

Killer brew - grab a few bottles if you get a chance.

Poured from a growler, keg tapped at Piggly Wiggly at Market Commons.

A- Great looking stout, pitch black with a half inch of dark brown frothy head.

S- Smells bring chocolate up front, with maybe so dark fruits and a sweet marshmallow finish.

M- Light, not heavy like most imperial stouts, well balanced.

T- Wow... The well balanced feel on the mouth is because this beer drinks perfectly. Tastes of toffee and sweetness are overwhelming. I really like this. Drinks very nice.

Overall- best beer I've had from Westbrook, and they make good beer... Better than Mexican Cake IMO.
