As usual for this brewery, love the label/art.

This beer carries nice subtleties that you'd like to find in a brown ale, but don't seem too that often. A bit of a thick tone to it, almost like it is unfiltered. There seem to be mild dark fruits on here too. It may be the start of an infection or intentional. Regardless, I like it.

I purchased this from Weis in Mechanicsburg, poured chilled from the corked and caged bottle into a goblet

The color is a dark brown shade with hazed appearance with small white head. The smell has mild malt aromatics with herbal complimentary araoma and light yeast ester. The feel is dry with light body and slight sweetness with medium carbonation and low bitterness with a dry finish.

The taste is bland - low malt flavor, light herbal and subtle mineral taste -not really off or flawed but lacks any intensity of flavor with light roast and subtle woody element. This is a passable brown ale more or less but as far as actually being enjoyable it falls way short. I do not recommend this as it was lackluster and not really worth 4 dollars for the corked and caged bottle

Would rate higher but this was pretty much flat when I popped the cork. Purchased from Wegmans for $3.99 back in Sept.

A-Pours a brownish, crimson color. Head is a popping, deflating mass of damp bubbles. Jagged lacing and bubble stains along the glass.

S-Malty, nutty and almost a bit tangy. Toffee and slight molasses. Has some element that is hard to describe. Lighter coffee notes with softer chocolate.

T-I was shocked by the decent amount of hop-induced bitterness. Nuts and tons of toffee. I almost get a maple syrup note. Several layers of maltiness.

M-Nice and easy of the palate. Has that casky feel almost. A bit silky on the palate with soft carbonation.

O/D-A neat Brown Ale from France. I have acquired a taste for Brown Ales recently and I find many of them to be tasty but they sometimes lack individuality. This one has some standout characteristics. Pretty cool and great label art.
